Top stuff Nick, looks great!
Second is ok too, second Klim Traverse suit on an Old bull, :woohoo: :silly:
September 30, 2011 at 12:08 am #209819It appears the elbow, shoulder and back armour is sold separately? Do they have any sort of protection that come with them or are they just the jacket?
It appears the price is good if they truly keep dry… Any chance of getting a jacket before next friday?

Did you buy the Armour?
The one you have Black?
You reckon a large would fit me?

I have only one set of armor but a large jacket which would fit you , if you want it you will need to buy armor. I was going to send it back to Steve tomorrow so if you want it let me know and arrange to pay Steve

September 30, 2011 at 1:09 am #209923I reckon after Nicks dramas with sizes and not as importantly his not being able to make his mind up with the colour until he knew what I ordered first
you are better driving the 20mins to his shop and trying them on Krusty. It wont make a difference on the price and you will be sure it fits
And if you are standing at Silverton with a jacket that doesnt fit as well as it could you maybe tempted to use it and regret it later

September 30, 2011 at 1:23 am #209820Good Call… Are they open Saturdays? I can’t seem to find any location details on their website…
September 30, 2011 at 1:40 am #209925Ring me after 9 in the morning Krusty and remind me. I have Steve’s number and will find out if he is around. It’s not a shop persay but a warehouse / shop if you catch my drift

April 10, 2012 at 11:55 pm #209927I have only had a couple of dealings with Steve from Adventuremoto, both have been very positive. I rang today and, for unfortunate reasons Steve was not available, however Janice (or maybe Janet???) was ever so helpful and lovely to deal with. After a quick trip up at lunch time (was not a short lunch, I live at Cronulla…) I am now resplendent with the Badlands suit.
Sure it can be bought cheaper overseas, but when I send out an SOS from the middle of bum $%*&, I reckon Steve would be the first to pull out the stops and get whatever I need to where ever I need it. Only starting to forma a relationship, but I reckon its worth a little extra to support the local.
Note on the sizings of the Klim kit – I found them to be generous and went down one size compared to other makes. Unfortunately, while as TB says its not a shop, I did leave with a little more than I intended and am not at all looking forward to when the credit card bill comes in and my wife comes a calling… What she does not know won’t hurt, at least for the next 55 days, then I am in for a helluva time…
April 11, 2012 at 12:32 am #219580Yes it’s Janice and she is worth her wait in gold
You are right regarding a customer relationship with Steve as some of the guys on the scrapheap will testify he will go the extra to help, support and make it happen. (Ask PTW) And quite a few peeps here have already established a shopaholic relationship with Adventure Moto much to their credit cards demise
It will become a shop in the near future and a workshop down the back to have your purchases fitted while you wait

April 12, 2012 at 12:00 pm #209821I’m looking to get one of these jackets too. On the sizing thing they seem to be a bit different from what I have read on ADV rider. I was wondering if you guys could help.
I’m 6′. 2″ and around 95 kg and wear a alpine star pressure suit. I’m in SA so can’t just slip down to Steves shop. I’m thinking large should do it. Or will I need an XL. I know I can exchange like Nick did, but want to try and minimize postage and stuffing around.April 12, 2012 at 12:21 pm #219620Speak with Adventure Moto, either Janice or Steve. I reckon from my experience with my jacket and seeing peeps try them on at adventure moto a little bigger is better than snug.. I wear armour under mine sometimes so I went a size up, it still a real good thing even when I don’t wear the armor as the sleeves velco around your wrist etc If you ever wish to do the same get the XL. Actually just get the XL better when you wear a jumper etc I reckon and allows for future expansion

April 12, 2012 at 12:47 pm #219621I agree Matt , go the xl for sure , we a a very similar size ( 6’1 / 95kg ) and the large was too tight on me to add base layers etc
