My father inlaw just brought a 95 KLR650 it is in fantastic condition and sounds sweet in the motor BUT it has a wild vibration as soon as you pull the power on even if your sitting there in neutral.

Any ideas what it could be?

So thanks every one for your support on this you have been so much help

As it turns out the cam shaft is bent in this bike. which is making the cam chain and balancer chain out of wack

Funny that was my first thought  , the old bent camshaft   WTF how does a camshaft get bent Corey? A bent gear yes maybe  , or the gear not on the shaft square but a bent cam

Well the guy at a shop in coffs harbour that moose loves was racking his brain to and opened it up and found that it has had a huge crack in the case that has been welded up and the balancer chain worn out.

So looks like the previous owner has had a major problem with it with a thrown chain which may have locked it up inside and i guess has bent the shaft some how. any way $900 later and pick up later this week it should be sweet so the $2800 he payed for it is now $3700 but for the top nick the bike is in sounds like a good buy if you ask me.

Maybe he will let me borrow it for some ADV rides ;)
