hey all quacka heads. my brother is thinking of trading his 2006 crf 250x in for a new 2008 klx 450r, for $9,999 they sound like a bargain. just wondering if anyone has had any major dramas with one? we found out the basic stuff like the pipe is to heavy and too quiet, some pretty crappy looking adr stuff compared to some bikes but it seems like a good bike. any info would be good.

Wal on the site who is a bit of a lurker here has one, he has a staintune pipe and I believe is pretty happy with it, maybe you can PM him to draw him out of lurking to discuss his bike. Scott at Battyes has close ties with kawasaki from a couple of years ago and he is close to you, talk to him, see his link on the home page

Ask for fathead when you ring or go there, its ok trust me, tell him your an Old Bull and TB said to look after you, and call him fathead for me!

Talk with fathead he doesnt sell kawasaki’s but will get you a deal with a mates shop and and help you with the accessories needed

Hi lc just looking through site and though very happy with the klx , i am considering seeling mine simply because ive been sole trading and need to cut overheads its got approx1400 km had 3 oil changes and shop serviced at 300 + oil change at 700 = shop service at 1100. Has heavy spring in rear and near new rear tyre though has been dropped with minour scratches looking for approx $9000 with new plastics and heaps of spares . Havent made final decision so is just mention it , no promises as i seriously love the model. oh it has 7 mths nsw rego.

For 10 grand you can not go wrong ,Ive got the 08 KX450 and its bullet proof…If he needs a pipe for it i have the standard one off mine which is alot lighter and louder.. if you pay for postage you can have it

They seem fairly reliable and are certainly well priced. I don’t think you can go too far wrong with any of the new 450’s
