I mentioned this to Chris (in the wrong bit of the website) so I’ll shuffle it into place…
I’m holding off installing an Acerbis headlight until I can find a lightweight/cheap replacement for the current heavyweight dashboard.
I spend a lot of time on the road (please don’t mention tyres!) and want to give curious Constables every reason to ignore me, so something that could pass for OEM would be my first choice. An old KDX unit or one of the analog jobs from Ballards, maybe? Does anyone know if the drive cables / threaded retaining collars from either of them would match the KLX cable and if I’m in for grief with the gearing?
The ‘Evil Twin’ keeps telling me to run something up in Illustrator and make a dummy that would pass inspection from the saddle of a white BMW…

Well I have a trail tech fitted to the 650 and bana and crash have them ( crashes burnt sorry) sometimes it works great and sometimes it is s&*t! I notice that lots of people have them so they cant be all bad in the states they seem to be like arseholes everyone has one. Ballards for example sell an after market XR replica speedo that may fit and give you speed and distance and they are well priced. If you can sort at the magnet mount but and get some tips from those that are happy with them I would still go a trail tech
