DK cant win an auguement on a BMW, fronts the GNCC on a private entered KLX450 and smashes them, what does it say for the BMW ???

But Knights was an extremely modified bike I believe, some say they should have left it more stock standard.
Salminen is doing OK in the E2 class, http://we.abc-wec.com/cms/wec_download/standings/enduro2.pdf

You may well be right W B I cant understand what happened at BMW I would have thought he would have been competitive with a wheel barrow ;)

I said it elsewhere I’ll state my opinion here,

I for one minute do not believe David Knight had to pull a privateer bike together, has anyone else seen the specs and photos of the KX450F he rode, WP suspension, Hinett Clutch advance fuel system, trick everything.. “Oh look someone left this totally tricked up competitive mega-buck race bike lying round, and wadda ya know it has my favourite suspension and it’s all dialled in for my massive frame too, guess if no-one else wants to use it I’ll borrow it for a race or two”. And that race happens to be the toughest race in the series, slap bang in the middle of the worlds most affluent bike buying public, who all love a good underdog story, and Kawasakis sales of KX/KLXs have been lagging somewhat, all co-incidence? I think not

Yeah right he’s been in talks with the green factory before he left BMVV.

And from Kawasakis Point of View “Oh look here’s a discarded current world champion enduro rider left lying about, and no-one wants him, poor bugger… oh well guess we could throw him a few baubles to help him back onto his feet” .

Blue you seemed troubled today, the two stroke / four stroke thing has pushed your buttons hasn’t it

Yes the bike was trick and two days after he left BMW he was talking with Kawasaki and Honda I read on the net. You can have the bike he had with whatever spec suspension dialed in however you want if you have the coin and contacts

I agree with your comments and opinion but again you seem trouble ol mate

I’m pretty interested in the story but don’t follow the comp that much. My first thought was that he saw the writing on the wall and had a bike prepped and would’ve preferred to win a race before signing on with anyone because it would’ve given him a better position to negotiate the new contract.

Look at the facts…. if he quit BMW after months of bad runs and still had nothing to fall onto bike-wise or contract, then he’s as dumb as he is fast.

Yep you’re right T/B that smoker of pink cigars from that mag has been playing on my mind, here we are just abunch of old has beens and coulda beens, thinking beforehand and being considerate and measured in our advice and views, yet we’re not circulating a well known branded magazine founded by two legendary men and built by one of those men into a respectcable and believeable tome of our pastime, that was the epitome’ of fairplay and “tell it warts and all” GE spoke out against smoking in the 70s’ knowing full it would lose him a huge part of his advertising of the time, yet this current crew pander to the highest bidder, should just be renamed to “just another glossy sales brochure”.

On DK and the KX450, I was in effect trying to state what Austblue said, DK had been talking with kawasaki heavy industries for some time for sure.

I haven’t purchased said mag for over 10 years, as a young Adult I used the read about and the thoughts of GE, we bike riders in this country in my opinion owe him and another particular individual a great deal for where we are and what we have, but it is being eroded at a rapid pace for the sake of the mighty dollar

I encourage punters / regular guys on this site that spend their hard earned money to give their honest view that we as a bunch of old has beens and coulda beens can understand, that is a real value test that I value more then someone getting everything for free telling me its the ducks guts so the supplier will give them more

I have been offered things for free to test since the site has grown and do a write up about, but if I dont pay for it then arent I obligated to say something nice, yes so I pay. (not always full retails thats true) I also tell whoever that if its crap I will say in my opinion its crap, I may just return it and say nothing, if it is ok in my opinion I will say so.

The IRC rears I purchased yesterday on Mal’s recommendation (and Mal hasnt let me down yet I value his opinion) was after I warned Mal I would bring the smoking carcass back and he can use it as a necklace if its no good.

OBT has been told by one mag they cant do a ride with us and report on it because tour companies spend to much money with them, and thats their bread and butter, they said we are doing a good thing for the sport and we should keep it up at OBT but nothing from them there, so screw the average punter and OBT doesnt get a helping hand, we dont get the exposure, thats fine by me now, it used to worry me but screw it now.
