Does any body know the tollerance of the piston for this bike
Have got Tims bike pulled down and we are a little bit worried that the piston is’nt up to spec
    Cheers

Hi Murph, is it a new piston or the old one you are talking about?

Hasn’t it done enough hrs to have a new one fitted Murph? Can I ask why was it pulled down? Just wondering

    Wow, thanks TB
    That was awesome
    Exactly what we needed
We were measuring the piston top and bottom and through x, y axis
His piston at the skirt is 63.92 so it may be time for a newy

It has done over 7000kms so he probably should bite the bullet and buy a new one
He pulled it down for something to do and I think he could start it with his hand on the kick starter

    Thanks Mate
    Cheers

Has that had the rings done since then? Or all up 7000kms on same piston and rings?

That’s crazy as :woohoo: I think I might leave mine a little longer then

    Help appreciated
A couple of questions for those with maintenance manuals
Why did Tims old piston have two rings and his new only one?
Torque settings for the head bolts?
I think we are going to put it back together this arvo

Twin ring is standard single ring probably an after market Single ring usually dont last as long as twin ring and probably not get 7000 kms out of it  (if it were mine I would change it for the twin ring piston ;) )

Well we put the main bits back together before Tim had to go around to his Girls place.
The rest is mainly plumbing, so he being a plumber, should be able to handle it. B)
Yes he does know about the bleed screw. B)
Thanks to all for their input
OBT is a wealth of knowledge
We all know a little bit of something. :cheer:

So Murph did you put the single ring piston in it or swapped it for the twin ring ?
