    Hey Guys

Anyone out there got the ‘heads up’ on half decent jetting spec’s for the 2009 KTM300, as KTM factory settings supplied are very average!

    Cheers

I have messed around with my bike and since November 2008 have enjoyed the following JD Jetting (about $140 and 5 minutes effort).

    Main Jet – 162
    Idle/Pilot Jet – standard
    Jet Needle – red
Clip – 3rd from starting position
Air – 1 complete turn only

Delivers smoooooth power / torque and revs clean right off the bottom. (Note – all the standard weazel word disclaimers should apply here should you hate it) :silly:

Sounds good – but would be interested in what fuel mix ratio are you using? As I recall, JD RED needle (runs leaner) and BLUE (richer) and JD recommend BLUE with clip in position 2 and air mix at 1.5 turns.
I run fuel at 40:1 so with a RED needle I have the clip at position 3 (richens/increases fuel)and it only needs 1 turn of the idle jet. What impressed me most with this setting was the extra fuel range I got for each ride.

    Hi Fezza

I run it at 50:1 on motorex and my range two weeks ago was 6.5 litres for about the 100kms if you add up my jet range it’s 38 and 158 wich is 196 and JD jetting kit requested 195 at sealevel up to 6000 ft .So i’m alittle on the rich side but it go real well all the way around single trail and the open fire trail as well.

    Cheers

Sounds like you are well sorted. The economy you are getting is second to none, you must be happy with that!
ps. you’re not Dr Dan on DBW are you?

Cool…I will have a crack at the different settings, that is one of the great things about the 3hungee, you can play with so many settings relatively easily. Unfortunately the only thing holding me back is the 8 weeks needed until I can ride again. I was a bit ambitious at the Kowen Rally on the weekend and binned the bike hard, fracturing both my arm and shoulder. Stupid really I still had another loop to complete and some really cool rides set-up. The next ride can’t come quick enough.

I have a 2008, but I understand its the same donk as the 09. I have the following set up for riding mainly below 1500 ft: –

    Stock needle – NZ2J ( or is it N2ZJ?) – 3rd clip
    Air screw 1.5 turns out
    main 160
    pilot 35

Get about 110 k from a tank, is responsive throughout the rev range, mix at 50:1 (full synthetic).

    Cheers
