Its easy Undo the preload nut all the way clean thread first
push bottem platform up and remove circlip/snapring and slide the platform down and off then the spring can be replaced
Dozza, I have an ’08’ which is the same setup as yours and I removed the spring as per the above.
I weigh 98Kg and replaced my rear spring which helped alot eith bottoming resistance of the bike. If you weigh 120Kg winding up the preload will not help at all so you are doing the right thing.
At 120Kg tooled up you will need to get the front springs upgraded too, I didn’t get mine done and I bottom my forks jumping winrows
You can get front springs from our site sponsors Sutto’s or Battye’s bikes to fit yourself. I had my suspension checked and re oiled by Battye’s and it did make a big difference, i wish now that I had paid the extra money and got them revalved now too, I think it’s the best money you’ll spend on your bike having ridden many others that have been properly set-up.
I would give Technik a ring and get them to do the work, they are the suspension guru’s. Check out their site also, they have lots of great information about setting your forks/shock up.
I hope you get it sorted mate
