    Hello Tekniks
    I have an 07 KTM 525
Its done 14400kms and I have an issue with the outer LH fork tube
It is worn where the bottom bush sits thus not squeezing the split bush enough to hold the inner tube properly.
Have tried new bushes a couple of times but to no avail
Is it possible to sleeve the area where the bush sits
I realise there is not a lot of wall thickness
Just wondering if it has been done before
As you would know a new outer tube is expensive ($800) and according KTM it wouldn’t be a black which is not really a big issue
    Any response would be greatfull
    Cheers

    Hey Roy,

No good answer here. Have never seen it before. Bush wear is age related and or alignment related (improper axle / wheel or something bent). What happens when it gets “loose”?

Maybe call the shop so we can chat. Your right, there is no good way to sleeve those thin tubes. But never say never…

Last problem – rattle can black – $2.99 from Super Cheap or the like.

    Thanks ER
    Have used aluminium Devcon
Bored it out to original size so I’m hoping all will be good
Shall put it back together tomorrow
All original parts still in the front end
    Owned it from new
Nothing bent as far as I know
    Anyway see how I go
    Cheers

That sounds good. That stuff is awesome for repairs. We even have some titanium Devcon at work. Its the shit.

Let me know how it turns out – add it to our bag of tricks.

Seriously – if you’re wearing out one side – make sure when you button up the front wheel you follow manufacturers specs to the letter. If you get it wrong and the tubes don’t run true, that may be the initial cause.

    ER
