August 17, 2010 at 8:26 am #186093Where is it cracked Rocket?
August 17, 2010 at 8:29 am #186096between where the bearing goes and the spokes go in all the way around
August 17, 2010 at 9:56 am #186097I have seen this happen on a few occasions where the chain has been run too tight and as the shock compresses the chain tightens and causes the hub to crack. :S

Thats why I asked where it has cracked as I have seen the same on a KTM and the guy that showed me said it wasn’t the first KTM he had seen because of an overtight chain. Which if I remember right would tie in with the leaking counter-shaft seal dramas you have had Rocket because of an over-tight chain maybe?? (If it was you  )

August 17, 2010 at 10:19 am #186107i run it about 5mm of the swing arm underneith the swingarm the sticker said 8 to 10 mm its precently extra loose so i don t think this is the cause .irelevent at the moment its broken have to get another like my weekly rides can get a genuin hub brand new for 220$ privetly but am concerned it will do the same thing thinking of going aftermarket

You only need lace it and away you go or is it a complete wheel? Have you tried the KTM shops they may have hubs from new ones they have blinged / pimped?
Suttos have wheels sets, DNA I think, well they used to have a few of them

We had to replace one on my sons KTM 450 when his sprocket bolts cam loose and tore the sprocket and hub mounting bolts to pieces (he was out riding with Lotsa at the time)
I think it cost him about $450 all up then with relacing.Mick
August 17, 2010 at 11:02 am #186123$220 is good I reckon, then there is just the relacing which is easy as well
Genuine Honda 650R $295 bare hub

August 17, 2010 at 11:12 am #186124my back wheel has some majer dints in it buckled to so am thinking should get another wheel and not be so tight will ring around tomorrow
August 18, 2010 at 10:40 am #186125Hey bigboy your chain was, has and is too tight as much as you don’t like to agree.
Countershaft seal leaks, wheel bearings flogged, hub cracked…
Sit your arz on the seat and make the swingarm horizontal then grab the chain. Adjust it so it’s not tight as a guitar string. If you get chain chatter when you ride it’s better than the problem you’ve got now eh? Forget the sticker thing, it’s bollocks. -
