Just thought I’d post up about my xmas break.

We’ll after 1 day at Anna Bay riding, my bike stalls & won’t start. Bugger…After  2 trips to Broadmeadow & Wallsend for plugs & a coil. I give up and leave the Kato till I get home a week later. Only to find a faulty kill switch & alls well. So the next weekend I’m back up there again. After letting down my tyres for the sand, I go ridng from Anna Bay to the wreck. 25k down the beach, I spin the rim & rip the valve off the rear tyre  …Limp back to Anna Bay. Fit a new tube & head out the next day. Half hour into the ride & clunk ..thump…clunk  WTF….Something broke in the box. Load up & head back home. This is a long story, maybe should have warned everyone earlier.
Take the motor out, split the cases & presto heres the problem. Tore 3 of the 5 dogs/pins from 6th gear, 2 get caught in the magnet 1 goes thru first gear & damages it & the main shaft! :S Anyway ring up Suttos on monday & order the parts,
6th gear, 1st gear, main shaft, rings, timming chain, gaskets, throttle cables etc. Thursday 10.00 am all the parts arrive. I like to thank Suttos for there prompt service & they look after us old bulls(although after spending over $800 a sticker wouldn’t go astray ;) )Finished rebuilding last friday & straight up to Anna Bay again. Done 200k on Stockon beach over the w/end so the Kato has run in the rings 😆 .Had to go up again to take the Stockton monkey off my back. Anyway made the Australia Day ride with Lotsa & hope to get another 170 hours from the Kato.

Bugger me mate – that is some bad luck you’ve been having.

All’s good now by the sounds of things.

Tryhard, you ride like a lunatic. You know only two speeds. I’m not surprised you blew up when you have the thing at the limiter in third and forth and landing on the hard pack sand.

Glad I didn’t buy your bike now.

Great effort on doing all the work yourself. You must feel a sense of accomplishment and your wallet didn’t get lightened.
