    I need help. I was replacing my steering stem bearings and I damaged the steering stem. I was trying to bash the stem out of the bottom triple clamp and mushroomed the top of the stem and damaged the thread inside.

    Couldnt find a tap big enough to get it retapped so I got a steel bolt and drove it in cross threaded so I could put the alloy bolt in. It didnt work so im after a new stem.

    Bike is a 2006 KTM 625, the 450 525 from the same era have the same stem but a different triple clamp, so the stem can be pressed out.

    I can get a new one for $140 but im a tight wad and am trying to find a used one.

    Any help would be appreciated.
