Due to family commitments I was unable to attend the Kundabung bash, Connor and I did manage to get out for a ride though. We did a 50km loop over Bago and into Heron’s Creek. Bago was hot dry and dusty, Connor had his first go at the She oak trail and the KX85 did it easy except for one minor incident on a log that saw Connor take a bit of a tumble, no harm done though.
Herons creek was the exact opposite, nice and muddy and we had a great time. I can see improvement in Connor’s confidence every time we go out together and now he will try any obstacle that I will and sometimes the little KX does it easier than the bigger bikes.
The young fella did have one big off though, that has made his fancy monster energy helmet look rather 2nd hand and there is skin missing from his shoulder and elbow, but he’ll live.
Despite his crash he had a ball and so did I.
If you get a chance to ride with your son, take my advise and never miss the opportunity, riding with your mates is fun but there is something special about enjoying the bush with your boy.
Enough of that, were are the Kundabung boy’s reports???
