Well after missing a ride opportunity on Monday, I was hanging to get out there today.
I fuelled up early and waited for Deano at Cameron Park meet point, he fronted shortly after but PTW was a no show But we kept an eye out for him during the morning.
Wasn`t any more than an hour & we were turning right at the Pines to head out towards Laguna. The Creek Rd was eroded in places from all the recent rain, some decent trenches have formed & there was still a fair amount of water running off through some of them, even though we have had no rain for days
Had to negotiate past a crazy Subaru driver half way out to Laguna that wanted me to pass on the left, then the right, then the left again (I was holding back waiting for Deano so we could pass together) but she then decided to cut Deano off, forcing him to go wide onto some grass embankment
The rest stop at the Laguna Store is always a welcomed one (usually of an afternoon though and a cool beverage hits the spot) . We then headed south a tad and hooked up with Murrays Run for a ride back to the Watagans. Wow, the run is in pristine nick, recently graded and slightly damp too, (no dust whatsoever) and would really suit some fast flattracking slide action, but we were happy to admire the scenery on the way through (it was the first time I had been there, same for Deano) It is a nice area for sure and a better option than the blacktop
Once back at Brush Creek Rd, we decided to fang back through the Watagans and head for lunch at home. There were plenty of bikes out, the weather was terrific for riding and the dust was not too bad (except when we came across a few 4×4`s on a couple of occasions)
Made it safe out the other side, pretty sure we passed PTW heading up Mt Falk on the Little Red Piglet :woohoo: , I waved madly and pulled over after the bend, but he was soon out of sight and we were on the way out anyway,,,,
Thanx for the run Deano, it was a great cruisy option that got us back home in good time to keep the brownie pts tally up . You have the 690 motoring along quite well now too
Cheers
