Well its Monday night and I have a day off tomorrow, there is gardening to be done bookwork, painting, or I could take the Kato out for the day.
So out comes the gps and a route planned and we are off to Walcha in the morning.
I left home at 7 am and the weather looked great but it was cold and I couldnt stop shaking as I crossed Berowra Waters and then headed up through Dural.Stopped at the lookout at Wisemans for a pic.
Thought I better fuel up at wisemans, the Indian lady at the servo didnt want to take my money as she was to busy on the phone, after waiting 5 minutes for her, I walked out and started the bike and went the 10 meter’s to Rosies cafe to have a coffee not a latte buty a real instant coffee. I was sitting outside enjoying my hot cuppa when this angry Indian man comes accross the road and says you better pay for that fuel or we will call the police, Hey keep your turban on mate I waited over 5 minutes for your wife to get off the phone and my coffee was getting cold heres you $30.00 and tell your wife she is running a servo not a bloody telephone exchange!! nuff said about that.
So onward and upward I crossed the ferry and headed for St Aubins the road out of here up to the letter A is a cracker with some great scenery,
Did I mention it was cold.
I came across two horses on the st Aubins common and they took most of the road and didnt seem to want to move so I sat there reving the bike hoping it would help them along but they were not interested in moving, I heard barking and looked in my mirror to see two big dogs coming SHIT! they look mean and I took my chances with the horses I gunned straight through the middle and the kato was in a horse sandwich with the one on the right so close I could smell his breath and those teeth!
If thats what eating grass does to you then thats it no more lettuce in my Burgers. After riding the Watagans next stop was Stroud and I parked the Kato between two GS 1250’s and went accross and ordered another coffee here I met the owners of the BMW’s nice blokes they were drinking those warm milkshake type coffees that you get in europe not real coffee like me. We talked bikes and how lucky we were to live in such a great country, Mick and Steve ride mostly road and you could tell by the Panniers and top boxes, they looked like they had been made at the same shipyard as the Titanic. I am sure they would hold everthing you would need for a road trip but would be a real handfull on the dirt, each to there own I suppose.
Riding up over Glouster tops and Barrington tops was fantastic and a really nice run up to walcha with scenery to die for.
A lot of the dirt roads up here seem to run through private property.
I arrived at the Apsley just in time for a counter lunch and scooner.
Great day out on the bike and really looking forward to the TK ride.
852 Km for the day. highest point 1380 meters and – 1meter on the Berowra ferry Max speed 149, moving average 81.8, moving time 10.25, stopped time 1.42August 9, 2012 at 12:44 pm #227060Nice day out Boulder, half your luck mate.

I tried to link up some dirt roads but had trouble with gates and private access but the roads up through Stroud and Glouster were a pleasure to ride and some special scenery along the way.
