Tiny and Osmabinriding (OBR) turned up for a ride in slippery challenging conditions. We headed off to the first small hill and gave up after the first attempt due to it been very slippery and only 5 min into the ride. Then it was onto a small section of single track and down a fire trail to an area called the Spanish Steps. This is a series of rock ledges up a small hill.

A few kms of fire trail and then onto a nice single that came to a very steep slippery downhill that caught us all out with too much front brake. The Sherco decided to stop starting at the bottom of this hill and 30 mins later we tracked the problem to dirty electrical connection to the ignition switch. So off we went to the hill out of the valley where OBR thought it would be a good idea to launch his KTM up a rock ledge without him on it.

After dragging the bikes up the hard sections of the hill we headed back to the fire trail and onto Tinys now favourite single track back to the cars for a refuel and a snack. On the way back we detoured around some of the main track on a short section of technical single track. OBR took the wrong line over a rock, much to the amusment of Tiny and myself.

At the cars Tiny checks his front wheel bearings after complaining all day about the bike feeling like it’s ‘flexing’. The bearings are shagged, a good 1 – 2mm movement at the axel. He says its fine for an arvo cruise ride. So we go and do some tighter sandy fire trails and I show him the start of some single tracks to come back.
All up a great day with a little bit of rain thrown in. Good to catch up with Tiny again and meet OBR. Enjoy the photos.
