Have been working away and not near a computer so this one is a little behind:silly: . I had the pleasure of being invited to a mates holiday house for the labour day long weekend (he has owned the house for 3 yrs and this was also the first time he had stayed there as well:blink: ).
To say he had a nice backyard would be a gross understatement as it was part of 5500 acres of dirt bikers dream.
This pic taken from the back verandah shows one of his little hills which we rode saturday(no pics as our guide was so quick it was all we could do just to keep him in sight let alone stop for pics:S ).
There was a good amount of keen riders and their kids and everyone had a ball with some apparently interesting drunken adventures at night as well (missed by me as the mates dog had been gored by a pig the night before and we were away transfering it from one vet to another).
Sunday came and the rest of the crew head off to the hills in the front yard for a ride also no slouch for a yard;)
While 3 of us decided we would climb hills by foot (wtf was I thinking:unsure: ) with me wishing I was on a bike 10 mins into what turned into over 2 hour walk. Our hill and path we followed.
On return back to the house the wife was keen for a double on one of the quads so off we went up and through a sand quarry that operates on the property. My hopes of getting her keen soon disappeared as she made it clear that she was just happy to watch from now on
.
To top off a great weekend I didn’t have my bike as it was at home and I was at work 4 hrs away so I rode a wr250f all weekend which as Ecks would probably testify is a much lighter, easier to throw around bike than the big Klx/Drz tanks.
Incidently fellas if the OBT Qld gathering at the RTCB ride had happened this is where you would have been riding as it was held here around the hill we climbed.
May 22, 2009 at 8:33 am #135822Now that just isn’t nice putting up a post like this on the day I was supposed to be on my first OBT ride at Bello, which I had beeen dreaming about for 5 weeks only to be flooded out on the wrong side town. It looks so good.FEZ.

Sorry fellas I am only home for the weekend then off away from computer again so can only post now:( , I don’t mean to be cruel:ohmy: . It is just out of Beaudesert, and as stated was the sight for the RTCB ride that was originally going to be the OBT QLD gathering, and 1200 acres of it is in the process of becoming a part of a new dam as it has been resumed by government but there will still be plenty of riding areas left. This is one of his smaller properties he also has some very big cattle properties so he has no worries finding riding spots:laugh: . He is a great bloke who even lets broke no hopers like myself enjoy lifes luxuries now and then :silly: .
