Yeah Eags and we are short staffed – and I don’t mean our staff are vertically challenged! At the moment I am working 60-70 hours a week, but we have advertised for another surveyor so fingers crossed…

I have pretty much caught up with my Safari excursion, now to catch up on the rest!

And just to keep things on topic, why do you need a strap anyway? I just grab the rear fender and lug the bike around, seems to work OK. Just askin’!

The seat bolts are good enough to hold our fat carcasses up, so they’re well strong enough for lifting the back of the bike around.
I used an unused shoulder strap off a laptop softcase, cut to length, melted the ends to aviod freying and put two brass eyelets in it, works like a bought one.

I will be speaking with the Rat today. I will give him the hurry up on these seat straps as I also need another one.I have put them on my kids bikes best thing I have done.

Boony I removed the toolbag off the rear fender on my bike, used the existing two holes as they go thru the frame, bolted on some seat belt webbing. Has been used on every ride since as my bike usually requires assitance.

All my seat bolt does is keep the seat attached to the bike which isn’t really tested unless you try to lift the bike by the seat only. I’m mostly concerned that the seat could fold up since its only secured in the centre by one bolt and the sides are only held down by the stiffness of the actual seat which could be tested if you pulled hard enough getting a bike out of mud.

As you can see in the video I posted the strap attaches to the two rear subframe legs but that also requires you to cut through the rear fender.
