Do all “competitors” start at the same place. I always thought it started at byron bay being the most easterly point. At Mudgee 8:08am.

The first few longest days started on Sawtell headlands and the idea was to go as far west as possible before sundown , some of the fastest guys ended up hundreds of kms past Cameron Corner.

Makes for a big night at the pub when they arrive !!

I always thought the aim was to go as far west as you could. It’s definitely a good idea to have one finish point and then people vary the distance by where they start. Is there any rules about breaks or checking in with race co-ordintaors along the way.

Looks as though he’s going really well and fast approaching Bourke :woohoo:

Reports were that the roads west of Bourke have had a lot of rain lately so progress might be slow. I hope he has had time to take a few piccies! B)

I have wanted to have a crack at this for a couple of years now, and tomorrow is the day.

My longest day ride is going to start at Faulconbridge NSW at 5.41am as the sun rises. And hopefully end in Cameron Corner before sunset approx 1200km later. The weather has not been kind out there so it should be interesting once I get out past Bourke.
    Ready to go
