The first few longest days started on Sawtell headlands and the idea was to go as far west as possible before sundown , some of the fastest guys ended up hundreds of kms past Cameron Corner.
Makes for a big night at the pub when they arrive !!
December 20, 2011 at 11:12 am #213456I always thought the aim was to go as far west as you could. It’s definitely a good idea to have one finish point and then people vary the distance by where they start. Is there any rules about breaks or checking in with race co-ordintaors along the way.
December 20, 2011 at 3:13 pm #213494Looks as though he’s going really well and fast approaching Bourke :woohoo:
December 20, 2011 at 4:27 pm #213457Reports were that the roads west of Bourke have had a lot of rain lately so progress might be slow. I hope he has had time to take a few piccies!

And hopefully end in Cameron Corner before sunset approx 1200km later. The weather has not been kind out there so it should be interesting once I get out past Bourke.
