Thanks to everyone that had a hand in organising the trip to Louee.
From our short stay on Friday night, it was shaping up to be a great weekend. It was a shame we missed most of it but for the short rides that we did have, we had heaps of fun!

A big thanks to Moto, Tyne, Kylie & Eagle for your help on Friday night, we really appreciated it!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

We have heaps of photos to load up but I need TB to tell me how to make them smaller to load them up quicker. I don’t know if we’ll put up all the photos of the eyes though. There’s an awful lot of them.

I had a great time over the weekend and really enjoyed putting faces to the some of the people that I hadn’t met before.

My favourite parts of the weekend were:
Accidentally trying a black (extreme) loop and it not working out too well.
Finding out there was a blue (easy) track back from the black loop
The poker run – even though I was buggered after it
Racing Yakka – did I beat him or did he let me?
Doing the red (difficult) loops up the top. They were gnarly because of all the rocks but there was some great single trail.
Riding with Tyne – she is going really well considering she has only just started riding. :)
Drinking my first ever full beer on Friday afternoon after my accidental attempt at the black loop.
Riding the Husaberg 390 and KTM’s on Sunday morning then hopping back on my WR250R to find that I really have got the (almost) perfect bike for me
Talking to V-Man about Subaru Libertys
Seeing TB’s face when DanD presented him with his OB spirit award
Riding with Chris, SuperUnit, Mal 5.1 and LC4Skin on Saturday and finding that I wasn’t too far behind them (unless they were going slow for me )
Having SuperUnit’s glove date me up through the hole in our wall
Meeting Sammy after such a long wait :)
Chatting to Tyne, Eagle, Champo & Tracy over the CB’s whilst travelling to Louee in convoy
Watching Moto finally pass us only to realise that he missed the turn by doing so. Priceless.
Only falling off the bike during the black section not on the blue or red (no Boony it was a drop not a fall whilst turning my bike around)
Receiving a present from Boulder for my DRZ400 – thanks Boulder. I will post it on the other thread.

Not so favourite part of the weekend
    Not getting any sleep
Not taking up TB’s offer for earplugs that would have helped me sleep
Having a hissy fit on the black loop, in front of Eagle
Not taking my thermals with me – how cold was it Sunday morning?
Not taking stuff to relieve the equivalent of male monkey butt
Realising poor Champo was going to be sick for the weekend and that Tracy would be out too

Thanks to everyone for making it such a great weekend. I look forward to next years!

Wow what can I say B) Thanks TB Dan Moto and everyone else that was involved with the organisation of this great event. It was awsome catching up with all the old Bulls from past events and meeting the new guys and gals.
I arrived friday night with a “Look what the cat dragged in” and within 20 seconds had a coldy handed to me  that set the scene for the nights frivolities :woohoo: I had stitches from laughing so hard and didnt get to bed until 1:30 in the morning. That was about the same point as Luke (Gasit) woke up and couldnt get any sleep because of the 090 Stihl chainsaw ringing its head off  Sorry mate, but a bottle of Bundy will do that to ya

Saturday turned out to be a glorious day. cooked up a mean breakfast of eggs bacon and snags on the barby. We did a couple of laps on the thumper track and then we headed into the enduro test. I swapped the Gasgas for a go of Mals Sherco 5.1 we had a good pace going in our small group.(Me,Mal,Boulder, boulders Son,and Yacka) (I think  )

we had a bit of a break then some of us headed up the big rocky Hill being led by Rocket with Boulder the super sweep at the rear. Came across a group of young fellas on their way back down the hill, they were trying to get up it on 85cc Mx bikes  that was never going to happen. we also had a retirement with one of our guys not quite up to the challenge and he headed back as well.
Rocket was setting a cracking pace up front and as I was still under the weather and also having the Flu was coughing up half a lung at all the rest breaks. Nearly thru it away in the rock garden a couple of times :S eventually we made it back to the carpark and had a break before heading over to the special test area for the Poker run.
The Poker run arnt these fun :woohoo: I started near the back of the pack and set off at a casual pace, well at least I did for the first 50 metres  But I could sense the build up of testosterone permeating from underneath the helmets of all and sundry, even Kylie was giving it a good go, I pulled in to get my second card when TB hit my kill switch,WTF  he then said to mick to get cracking and that I wouldnt catch him (what happened to this is not a race  ) So I was off chasing the BRP thru the creek bed and over the hills, seizing my opportunity when mick took a bad line, but he wasnt going to let me go easily chasing me down the back straight and into the whoops near the fence line,we then came upon Boony who was helping rat move his bike after having a big off, I thought about having some sympathy for him for about 1/2 a second, then roosted him with sand and rock Mick concurred and did the same :woohoo: (sorry Dave) but you would have done the same  Pulled in for the next card and I was right on the tailpipe of Mals big Sherco,I could tell from the riding style that he didnt want me to get past and we had a great run for almost a full lap hitting rocks and holes in the road at full noise 😆 By the time we got back around to the start I was pretty well spent but the adrenaline was still pumping thru my veins. I didnt end up getting a real good deal from the cards so headed back to the carpark in anticipation of the next programmed event.

The consistency time trial on the Grass track
We all lined up to get our photy taken by trail rider magazine then one by one had a crack at the grass track. I could tell once again that it was a “give it a crack as hard as you can trial” I hadnt ridden on this track before so wasnt quite sure what to expect,Puddles said it was slippery round the back with the white sand just after the two small jumps. He didnt tell me about the off camber right hander where I lost the front end in a slow motion lay down :( I picked myself back up a bit wobbly in the front end,so I thought I may as well have some fun on the berms :woohoo: Next time around I got a really good start and was going well, until the second lap where I came up on a dad and his son on his KX65, sh#t! Sh$t! Sh#t! I had no option but to slow right down and make my pass in a manner that was deemed acceptable to the dad and his boy, I got away after about 100 meters of torture and flew across the finish line nearly got taken out by a young fella who didnt realise that I was going straight ahead  ended up with a respectable time of 4.07 we all then went and parked up our bikes and headed back to the shearers quaters for a well earned feed and a drink or 7

    Presento Time

everyone was showered and fed and getting into the swing of things.we all were having a great time reliving the days activities. Everyone gathered around the dining area and TB gave us a speech and started handing out the prizes, I got a prize for the most inconsistent time thanks to Rock motorcycles, Crash got the most consistant times a 4.06/4.06 and won the Kingchrome toolpack! I was given the honour of drawing the winning raffle ticket for the Camelback that was donated by STM,the winner was Gasit my roomy! (I think he forgave me for my snoring after he won that! ) I went steady on the rumskis that night as I was not feeling 100 percent and managed to make it to bed at a respectable time. It was bloody freezing though.

    Sunday

sunday morning was a bloody cold very windy miserable looking day,and I was considering not riding, but Bull offered me his big Kato 525 for the morning,so I quickly changed my mind, I hooked up with Chris on his Kato450 and we did some laps around the Grass track, thumper track and finaly the back Fire trail, Chris hadnt been on a ride for about 15 months due to a new Bub and work commitments, anyway he set a cracking pace through all of the black arrowed sections only stopping a few times for a break, we made it back to the car and dave and Bull rock up, after taking copius amounts of Voltarin and pretty pink pain killers they were ready for a ride themselves. I said my goodbyes and had a good talk to Sutto and the few remaining OB’s having a go on the berg and Kato’s.

went back to the shearers quaters and had a really hot shower to defrost, a quick feed then headed off.

Thanks again to everyone who showed up and made the weekend what it was. Thanks also to the Sponsors for the great prizes and the people who organised the event. A lot of new friendships were made this weekend and a lot of older ones rekindled. Boony and Menace you need to see a special doctor (to much man love for me  ) TB and Dan the umbilical twins
Thanks again to everyone awesome stuff B)

My first report wasn’t very in depth so here are some of my thoughts on the weekend.

An early start saw Moose, Gassit and me on the road to Louee at 5am with Moose at the wheel of the VW transporter, what a awesome little truck for the job at hand!! After about 3hrs at the wheel Moose had enough of driving after a big week behind the wheel of his big truck,so Gassit took over the driving duties and Moose and I cracked the first of many beers for the week end.
A quick stop at Denman saw us in the local IGA stocking up on supplies for the weekend, as we were leaving the store Kram rolled into town only to find out that there was no auto gas in town so he had to head off to Muswellbrook for fuel, from there we headed for Lue.
At Byalong we rounded a corner to see three vehicles loaded with bikes parked at the servo and it turned out to be some of the OBT contingent, a quick stop and hand shakes all round saw us back in the transporter and we joined the convoy and made our way to the shearers quarters to dump our gear.
From that moment on, the weekend became a blur of great times and camaraderie.

    The highlights for me were, in no particular order were;

Meeting up with old mates and also putting faces to some of the names from the site.

The first trail we rode at Louee, was rocky and dusty to say the least and I was thinking to myself, I dunno if I wanna ride in this shit all weekend but I soon warmed to the place after a few laps of the Thumper track on the 650. Up until then I hadn’t really jumped the pig very far and I was having a ball getting some air on the big girl.

Friday arvo saw TB, Crash, DanD, KylieD, Kram140, Eagle and myself hit the trail up the big hill for a blast. The trail had a blue arrow? on it at the start and I remember thinking this trail is getting pretty gnarly for a blue trail as we headed down into the gully on the other side. As it turns out I hadn’t seen the black arrow that indicated we were now on the expert trails. At the top of the first widow maker hill which the pig tractored up quite easily,I stopped at the top to gain my breath and for some reason I lost my footing as and I lost my balance and the XR and I took a tumble backwards down over a rocky hill. The noise of the rocks grinding into my body armour and the XR as we slid down the hill together wasn’t a pleasant noise at all!!! When XR650’s land upside down they are not only hard to stand up again they are bitches to start. Thankfully the BRP wasn’t that hard to start and I was on my way again, only to be confronted with another hill that the XR tractored up relatively easily but judging on TB’s video of me I didn’t make it look real pretty. There was some pretty feral country up there and I was thinking to myself “I bet if mushrooms grew here, even they would have thorns!”
By the time we got to the top, most of us felt the need for a beer and we headed back to the Shearers quarters to start the evening’s festivities.

The circle of madness out the back of the shearers shed was great as the banter flew thick and fast, a highlight for me was when I flamed TB with the Admin thing during Dan’s speech. LOL
1.30 am saw me hit the deck after too much to drink,7am saw me feeling rather 2nd hand but keen enough to hit the trails again.
Moose, Gassit, Rocket and I joined ol mate (who’s name escapes me at the moment) from Trailrider magazine for another black arrow enduro loop which was a ton of fun especially when I tractored the XR up a hill past a few young blokes that were stuck on a hill, the look on their faces upon eventually arriving at the top when they realised an old fart on a 6fiddy made it up a hill that bought them undone was priceless!!
As stated before, the poker run was great fun but I am glad it was only 5 laps as I couldn’t keep that pace up for much longer. I am glad it wasn’t a race LOL. Yes it did piss me off a little when I got a little outa shape on the rocky hill and Ollie seized the moment and overtook me.

The consistency sprints were a blast, although I binned the pig on a sandy, off camber left hander. Luckily the pig landed with the clutch pulled in, so it had miraculously not stalled, only costing me mere seconds in the scheme of things. That was a good thing as not many people saw me crash and I didn’t have t wear much shit slinging at all.LOL
After the sprints we headed back for a well earned drink which once again was a hilarious affair. I don’t think I have laughed so much in years as I did over the duration of our stay at Louee.
Sunday was a bitch of a morning and I wasn’t all that keen on riding so I did a lap of the poker run track on the new 300 dinger Kato, then another on the 450 and I was over it and keen to get on our way for the long drive back home.
Thanks once again to everyone that came to the party it was a blast!!
Special thanks to TB and Moto, for the ground work that went into organising such a successful weekend of riding, drinking and general madness.
Thanks also goes to Moose for the use of his Transporter and Gassit for his piloting of the vehicle while Moose and I indulged in some fizzy drinks on the journey.

Moto wanted racy and I to join the convoy. But I said that if we were awake well before the meeting time, we would go then. Well I woke up at 4am. Racy was keen to sleep in. actually she was not that keen to go as she was sick all week. Boony offered heaps of useful advice via posts on how to wake her up. Thanks.

On arrival we headed straight to the tracks. Meet up with some crew and had a play on some tracks, then headed up tom’s hill. Tom must like rocks. lc, greeny and boony was keen to save the next hill for Saturday. I was keen to kill it now. After passing another bike upside down half way up, I could see why they wanted to eat the icing on Saturday. (p.s. the random was ok). I think the hill may have been called compass hill, but also goes by the name of tantrum hill.

The boys were keen to keen to go back to blue tracks so we congregated at the thumper track. It is a more a hold in on and hold on track. I actually turned the steering damper right up to experiment. It is a weird feeling having a steering lock. The track was good fun but some of us were keen for something harder. Greenie, who had never done mx before took to the jumps with enthusiasm. Really impressive watching him channel james stewart through his kwaka. Lc had less faith in his desert racer. With the steering damper near full, i could move the rear of the bike around using the handle bars. Very weird indeed. So I backed it back off.

Mt turkey was too tempting and sucked me in. the jumps had some weird ramps but were heaps fun. The 140ft looked very sus. I thought I would wait to see if someone else does it first.

Mal showed me a loop at the back of the compound. Really nice trails.

Having never done a metal ramp jump, I was keen to try that. But I would wait and follow someone over that. But not in this wind.

Racy was still not well, so I took the ttr for a spin around the mx track. The little engine that could made all the landings on the first go. Had to take different lines compared to the tm though. Note: to self check racy’s brakes. Then I took tigertynes 200 for a spin around the mx track. Difficult bike to ride, but heaps of fun. Note to moto. We will have to sort out the 200.

Sadly we had to hand over our bikes for the night.

It was great catching up with the crew. So many great blokes to hang with. Where do I start? Unfortunately my night was soon to be doomed.

Whilst eating the yummy healthy dinner I started to feel weird. I ended up throwing up all the dinner and ribina I just had.

I already had a plan that if racy got sick again, I would take her to a motel in mudgee. Surprisingly, it was me that got sick and racy planned to take me to mudgee. Moto, tyne and eagie helped us empty the back of the ute (thanks guys). And off we went.
Must apologise to the amateur astronomers in mudgee that threw up near. I doubt that they are reading this thread though.

I thought that since I had no more food and drink in me, I would be right. No. I was chucking up every half hour for the whole night.

Saturday and saturday night was spent recovering and watching an all day beatles special on the telly. Apparently eagle rang us whilst in town to check up on me. Thanks mate.

Sorry that we completely missed chicken. And didn’t get to hang out with heaps of other really nice people.

Sunday I felt fine, so we headed back to the track. I got straight back into it. Mainly played on the mx track and mt turkey. The wind made some of the steeper jumps on mt turkey very interesting. Had some good rides with some of the regular louee crew on the mx track. On guy came screaming past me wearing tracky dacks and joggers.

One guy exploded the front wheel of his new cr on landing the 140ft table top. It was a really nasty crash. The bike is trashed and so is his wrist.

Slowly the crew dwindled down. Soon it was just rocket (this guy has done so many laps and is still beaming). Jrd. (ok one more session then call it quits…. Ok this time for sure).

Racy and I was last to leave the louee. It looks like people are really keen to come back as they left some snags in the fridge for next time. Let me know when. Racy and I will be there

    Thanks guys and gals

Will be looking forward to your version of events Dan, I am sure there are a lot more stories / photos to come like, like Mal 5.1, LC4Skin, Rat, Bull, and lets not forget Chris he took some photos. They are main stream people with high post counts, but say if Moose can post a report as such well most people who went should be able to, no offence Moose ;)

The OBT Christmas Party – The DanD perspective.

    FRIDAY

After many weeks of waiting and making sure everything was going to be right the time had finally came around to go.
Everything was loaded in the car and on the trailer it was now time to go.

    Or was it?

The last thing that I posted on Thursday night was for Moto not to be late. We were all meeting at Eagles Friday morning the time was to be 8.00am, but I was late. Sorry everyone

After loading up Eagles bike it was time for the convoy to move out. There was Champo and Tracy in their ute, Moto, Tyne and Eagle in the Taxi and the D’s in the under powered Sube. Out of all the cars in the convoy the Sube has the smallest engine but was dragging around the largest load. I was fair flogging the poor thing to keep up.
Our first stop was at Rutherford for Moto to get some fuel, the second was at Branxton for Champo and Tracy to pick up some supplies, the next was just out of Sandy Hollow as everyone was saying that the wheels on my trailer were looking a bit more angled to normal. There was nothing wrong with the wheels it was just the OBT super commuter was in the middle of the trailer and was bending the whole trailer down.

One super funny moment on the trip to Louee was watching Moto wind the Taxi up just before the turn off to Sandy Hollow, he laid the right boot into it overtaking me only to miss the turn off  . You’re a knuckle head Moto.

We drove into Rylstone to get some lunch and top up on fuel and ice and then Wauchope crew rolled in. After a bit of a chat with the Wauchope boys we moved out.

    Next stop Louee.

We all had hand held UHF radios on the way up to keep in contact with each other and to take the piss out of each other. When we rolled into Louee a familiar voice came over the radio it was TB. True to his word he had waited for us to arrive before going down to the ride park. Mal5.1 had waited with him so we quickly unloaded what we had to and made our way down to register and then get out for a ride.

On arriving down at the ride park we registered and went for a blat. It was dry, rocky and dusty but still all good. We made our way around the park and had a look at a few of the tracks and me and Champo had a bit of a tussle on the Thumper track. It was all good and I enjoyed every minute of it. The grass track was another place that provided a lot of fun throughout the afternoon, with a few people stepping up to the line and racing each other around.
We decided to a bit of a loop up the back and made our way up a rocky hill and onto a black arrowed loop. I had a bit of a lay down cause I am sure that there was 5 cents on the ground (and I overshot a bit of the track). We started off with everything going to plan until we came to a snotty hill that unstuck a few of the players. A few of us waited up the top of one particular hill which was a real tricky bitch of a thing to get up. A few of the stragglers in the group were then making their way up, but we were still waiting for Kylie and Eagle. Someone had said that they had turned around to take another track, which turned out not to be the case, we continued on and made our way back to the car park. On arriving at the car park I asked around to see if anyone had seen Kylie and Eagle. No on knew their where about so I decided to head back out to do the loop again to see if I could find them. I had no luck after doing the whole loop again and headed back to the car park. A little bit later Kylie made her way back and was ready to tear me a new arse. I could only apologise and smile politely about the mishap that had occurred.
We decided that we had had enough of the dust and it was time to park the bikes up and head back to the Shearers Quarters for a shower and a drink.

On arriving at the Shearers Quarters I couldn’t wait to knock the top off a Vitamin B and did so before getting the riding gear off and having a shower.

After a shower it was time for a few more Vitamin B’s and some bench racing with the crowd.
I had a special award for one Old Bull that I had made the previous week to hand out as well. I had prepared a bit of a speech but the audience was in a heckling mood. Finally I got to announce the winner of the “OBT Spirit” award 2009. As you already know it was TB that took the title for the first ever “OBT Spirit” award.
After TB was presented his award and he made his acceptance speech it was time for the raffles to be drawn and won. All the prizes that were raffled were all kindly donated by both sponsors and future sponsors and was all top notch stuff.
Thankyou to our current and future sponsors for your generosity.
With the awards and raffles out of the road for Friday night everyone was ready to get down to some serious rehydration. I know that I had plenty to drink and was feeling well and truly hydrated by the time I went to bed in the early hours of Saturday morning.
I cant remember much of Friday night but I know that a lot of bullshit was flung and I had a good time.
Sorry to all the people that went to bed at a decent hour for the noise. I was reprimanded by both Kylie and TB for my actions. I didn’t know that my “f**ken voice” was that loud.

I will have some photos of Friday night to post but I am not going to put captions with them as I cant really remember what happened. You work it out for yourselves.

    To be continued.

I have just started uploading 27 photos and then I’ll upload a couple of vids from the jump at the thumper track.

Had a great weekend at Louee. Met a heap more Old Bulls.

    Some highlights:
-The effort Dan put into the ‘OBT Spirit Award’. Looks great mate. ;)
-The man hug Dan got from TB when receiving the spirit award. smiley-hug001.gif (I’m sure TB had some man tears under his sunnys)
-Ripping around the thumper track with a heap of Old Bulls
-Riding the power line track (?) with Moto, Tyne, KylieD, Chris and superunit.
-Having Ollie push me around the poker run. Made me a faster rider. Thanks Ollie.
-The poker run in general. Just great fun.
-Riding the special test with Ollie, Boulder, Pebble and Yakka(I think).
-Have a couple of laps of the special test on Ollies Gas Gas. Nice bike if the seat had a bit of foam it.
-Watching Moto trying to get the mechanical knowledge in his brain to come out of his hands. He looked a bit like this smiley-happy093.gif. I’m sure those gloves will last forever moto.
-Drinking, sitting around and cooking with a great punch of guy and gals.

Thanks to everyone involved in the organising of this great event.

Arrive at Louee around 10.00am Friday to be met by Trailboss, Sammy and this other bloke??
The rest of the weekend was taken up with laughter, beers, fun, food and the best old bull’s spirit anyone could imagine. I’m only doing the best bits now

    Memories.

Having a beer with Old bulls I have met in the past and ones I had never met before, great bunch of people.

Riding around the thumper track feeling like Mr Motocross. LC4skin and green 450 were there with me having a ball.

The trail ride around the property with Unit, Mal, Green, Kylie, Dan and some other bloke ( I had Gumby on board with me for a while) Ohh and Kylie the rule book says it was an off.

The bench racing at the accommodation was superb, had heaps of laughs and everyone stirred each other, it was brilliant fun.

The poker run was the best fun ever, I thought I was doing a million mile an hour, it was a ball,(crappy dealing DanD) I think I ended up with 2,4,7,9,6, I knew it wasn’t a race but when every one got a card they tore off into the distance like a demon.. I recon there was some elbow rubbing going on, I can remember following moose and all I could hear was him with that bloody laugh of his HUHUHUHU.

The grass track consistency ride was just as much fun to ride in as it was to watch,, the a graders where having a go and Ollie even binned it trying to catch me, you should have yelled out nipples and I would have slowed down for you.

I parked the DRZ for the Sunday session as I was counting my blessings for zero injuries to the ribs and they had, had enough bashing for 1 weekend, and I just sat around and watched the crew take the Sutto bikes for a ride,,( does anyone know if rocket actually got off them or is he still going around that loop on them)

To all that attended the 2009 OBT Christmas party, I thank you for the great time and the brilliant memories I will have forever, Again what a top bunch of people.

G’Day guys and girls,It has been thoroughly enjoyable reading all the previous threads and I would like to add a few lines.

To T.B and your off sider’s, firstly thank you for a great bunch of folks to catch up with and secondly what a great place to ride and stay. The atmosphere was fantastic, both on the trails [well I was on the trails some of the way]and back at the shearers quarters. While I can’t even try to estimate the amount of work you put in I can only imagine, and it is greatly appreciated, something that you should be very proud of T.B&CO.

T.B spoke about a ride to raise money which was a great idea and everyone in the room was quiet, everyone was listening to T.B’s charity talk, and no doubt contemplating!! The community spirit of the OBT’S is quite amazing.I am looking forward to reading all the details and maybe being of some assistance in some way-
Perhaps with my old cruiser. At least I haven’t fallen off it! [YET!]
I wasn’t around when the votes were taken for my nomination as most improved rider. But I guess the argument could have been discussed as [well he couldn’t get any worse!]

Thanks to Ollie for the effort put in to making my TROPHY- Well at least that’s what I’m telling my mates I received.

It’s going straight to the pool room!

Louee was a great place to not only have a great choice of places to ride but to catch up and put a face to some of the names on the forum. It was particularly interesting putting a face to a “Moose”!

The poker run was fantastic- I was fairly looking to blow the top off a frothy chop after that.

Saturday night was a great night and I had a great time talking to Bill, Chris, Ollie and Boony and many others that the Bundy has blurred my re-call.

To quote Darryl Kerrigan – You can’t Buy that!

Finally; Thank you to my good friend Boulder for introducing me to such a wonderful bunch of people, and giving me a big hand with my bike.

Thank you everyone for a great weekend- looking forward to catching up with you soon -P.S That’s something I am always thinking when I am riding!!

    Cheers
