AnonymousI have to say that there was competition between me, Dan and TB. The funny thing was that none of the 3 of us mentioned anything about beating/racing each other until the trial had almost finished, we just all thought the same thing

AnonymousSaturday at Louee
It’s a bit late but late is better than never I suppose
I thought after my boozy late night I would of woke up a bit dustier than what I did.
I was how ever reminded that I did act a bit of a goat on Friday night. TB was a bit snippy with me for waking him up (on numerous occasions)
With brekky out of the way – Kylie made us bacon and eggs to recharge the batteries. She’s a good girl (sometimes)I got myself ready for a day of riding and headed down to the Louee compound with TB.
We got the bikes out and Kylie soon joined me for a bit of a recce ride to prepare for the Poker run.
After doing the recce ride we headed out for a bit of a blat around a few of the other tracks.
We headed back and got ready to do the poker run. The poker run was never meant to be a race but the competition soon heated up with everyone getting back around to get their next card quicker and quicker.
With the poker run done and dusted it was time for everyone to have a bit of a break and to get ready for the consistency run.
Once again it was never to be a race but it soon turned into one with some players. Me included. There was some terrific riding done on the consistency trial, but Crash was the man of the day with a perfect two laps of 4.06 seconds both times round.
After the consistency trial was run everyone dispersed and went their own ways doing all the different tracks that was available at Louee.
I went for a blat with TB around one of the longer loops. I had a go on the Fiddy, but had a massive moment over a bit of a jump. The back tyre tried to overtake the front and I thought for sure that it was going to be the end. But the big girl touched down and straightened up as if nothing ever happened, the bike certainly handled it better than what I did.
I did see TB have a bit of a moment like mine later on in the ride after we swapped bikes back. I remember yelling to him over the headset “What the f%^k was that” but he landed it like nothing had happened. That’s one thing about the XR it is a big bike but is so nimble on the track.
I did go for another trail ride through the day with Kylie, Unit, Menace, Boony and LC4skin we took the long way round and had a great ride. The tracks that we done were very rocky but had some nice pieces of single trail through them.
I had a few laps around some of the other tracks in between trail rides and the events, which I enjoyed.
As the day was winding up and people were starting to pack up and head back to the shearers quarters, I decided to go out for another few laps with young Ricky.
Ricky had been at me all day about having a friendly little race. So rather than doing the smart thing and calling it a day I accepted Ricky’s challenge and headed out. Both Kylie and TB said don’t worry about it and come back for a beer. But no I knew best and headed back out. TB did say don’t be stupid and remember that your not racing for cattle stations. Any how the rest is history now, we done a few laps of the motorcross tracks which I didn’t do to well on. I said to Rick how about going up to the Thumper track, cause I thought I would have a better chance. I think it was on the second lap that it all turned to shit. I stalled it on a corner and had a bugger og a time getting the bike to start again. Eventually the WR came back to life, I grabbed a hand full of throttle and dumped the clutch to get a jump on Rick. I jumped alright, the bike flew out from under me and kept going by itself. It caught the exhaust and back guard on the way through bending the exhaust up punching a good sized hole in it and cracked the back guard about ¾ of the way through.
After that episode I had had enough and called it a day. Loaded both the bikes on the trailer and headed back to the Shearers quarters to inspect the damage.
It didn’t take long to have a decent crowd around to have a look. The Old Bull spirit was alive and well with Big T and VMan having the gear to fix the WR enough to ride it on Sunday.
Seeing I was still dirty from riding I got the call to change a tube in Rats bike. I changed the tube with another good crowd hanging around to check my progress. I think everyone was a bit surprised to see how I strip and fit a tyre with many comments being made of why I took both sides of the tyre over the rim to remove the tyre. But all was revealed when everyone seen how easy it was to take a tyre off that way. I cant take the credit for this method as TB was the one that showed me. Once you have used this method you wont do it any other way. What surprised the crowd the most is when I pulled a bottle of baby powder out of my pants before refitting the tyre. WTF who carries baby powder in their pants? Makes it a shit load easier to re fit tyres though. With all the bike repairs out of the way it was time for a beer and shower.
Saturday night was somewhat quieter for me than Friday night as I was feeling a bit second hand by now.
TB done some presentations with bike goodies handed out to various people for different things.
I was presented with stubby holder and a wheel web for showing some OB Spirit through out the weekend. I gratefully received my things but I really should of given it to Kylie as she showed more spirit than me in reality. Kylie made sure that me and TB had all the food that we needed for the weekend, took over cooking duties when I was too busy talking instead of watching what was burning. So a belated congratulations to you Kylie.I went to bed fairly early on Saturday night as I was totally shagged.
I cant say I slept real good but I don’t think anyone did really.
Sunday
I wasn’t really interested in riding but given that Sutto’s had made the huge effort in bringing all the demo bikes up I wasn’t going to pass up the opportunity to have a blat on some brand new Kato’s and that sweet Burg.
I done a few laps on each of the demo bikes but in the end my knee was giving me too much grief so I decided that I had had enough riding.
Me and Kylie put the bikes on the trailer and headed back up to the shearers quarters to pack up our gear and have a shower before we headed off. After we packed the car we headed back down to the Louee complex to have some lunch before heading for home.We were home by around 5.00pm on Sunday, pretty well stuffed but both of us had had a good weekend.
I am looking forward to all the upcoming and future Old Bull rides as they always seem to get better each time. But a lot of that comes from the people that makes Old Bulls what it is.
