I spent Tuesday copping roost off the back of Menace’s 300 smoker. That thing suited the terrain around my place perfectly and with a brand new S12 on the back it was a trench digger up the beach!
October 1, 2009 at 3:32 am #154694He would have been loving it the big fella

October 1, 2009 at 3:44 am #154703Too right TB. He was stoked
A lot of the singletrack has no intersections so I let him lead most the day as the dust is starting to get pretty bad in spots. Traction is good though so with perfect visibilty he had a ball.
I however am still coughing up dust, shells and everything that massive spider chucked back at me

AnonymousDid you do widowmaker STM?
October 1, 2009 at 4:07 am #154713No we didn’t end up on that side of the forest. We just rode singletrcak all day similar to what we did on our saturday together. Menace will give a full report when he gets home.

i reckon a 200 kato and a neck brace would be so much fun up at your forest.
October 1, 2009 at 4:48 am #154725Too true Champo and a beautiful segway back to the topic of this thread. After seeing and hearing Menace’s beast around my loops I am feeling very warm about the whole smoker thing. I thought my 250F was perfect for the terrain but there is always something better

Shame about that mortgage

AnonymousI think the next question for me is 200, 250 or 300…….
200 – Awesome machine but maybe a little too dedicated to the single trail. WIth standard gearing it tops out at 100Km/h. Oh so fun to ride though.
250 – I regrettably didn’t ride this one, it was loaded up ready to go home when I discovered the fun of the 200!
300 – Much better all rounder, will give much better top end speed and has the power to boot. 6Kg’s heavier and $2K dearer than the 200, although does have an electric leg. Would seem like the best all rounder if you have to pick only 1 bike.
Sutto’s have a brand new ’09’ model that they are selling for $10,400 OTR with a Hyde bashie and bark busters, very hard to ignore. Could get that and keep the 450 :woohoo:
Maybe I should just keep the 4 banger……

STM don’t worry about that silly thing called a mortgage – if you want/need another bike you just add it to the mortgage
HEY KYLIE isn’t that how it’s done?
