I havent riden since the birthday ride, because of a dented fork and a back injury.
Hows the back Ev?
What are they doing with your forks, new tube or filling the dent?
or have they gone to Broome by car for some special rock to make them
July 17, 2012 at 3:37 pm #226203The fork is in the post and the back is on the mend, ill be back at work next week and ill be right by august
July 24, 2012 at 3:10 pm #226239My fork just arrived minus the bleeder valve and about 200ml of oil ( poor packaging has caused it to break off in the thread) :pinch: :pinch:
Teknik promised me they could fix it and get it here in time but it will be very very close.July 24, 2012 at 3:59 pm #226580BellingenEv wrote:My fork just arrived minus the bleeder valve and about 200ml of oil ( poor packaging has caused it to break off in the thread) :pinch: :pinch:
Teknik promised me they could fix it and get it here in time but it will be very very close.Ev if time is a problem (sounds like it is) maybe you can talk with Nick and you just remove the broken piece of bleeder, turn the leg upside down and drain the oil completely. Get Nick to send you the new bleeder and the amount of oil etc required. You can fit the bleeder and fill the leg. That saves you at least a freight leg. Just thinking
With regards to the poor packaging are you sure it wasnt a poor freight handling? Tekniks would send 5 sets of forks a day for 6 years from what I have seen surely they would have it down pat  I would hope anyway
Hope you get it sorted mate

July 24, 2012 at 4:25 pm #226585Just ordered a new headlight switch, I know Ev loves to get the most out of a days riding and there is a chance we could be out there until dark :woohoo:

July 28, 2012 at 2:37 am #226612Any of you semi-locals staying for a beer Saturday night after this ride?
July 28, 2012 at 7:04 pm #226844Back is OK, bike is running and the weather looks good
LC, Bob and me will be riding on the friday as well if anyone is keen.Sat:Ready to ride 8:10, meet at the end of Lyon st, probably be back around 5ish
We will have to set a good pace to finish before dark, but some of the bigger hills have been graded and there is a shorter route home than last time.
To save time in Lowanna i think we should avoid ordering 15 burgers it is a small shop and food can take a while.
Old mate said he could prepare sandwiches and cook extra pies.If no one objects ill tell him to make 10 ham, cheese and salad, and 10 chicken, lettuce mayo. That should get things moving then we can buy pies and chips on the side.Bob, LC, Adam and Sam are all staying sat night in Bello, anyone who wants a shower and a feed is welcome to hang around.
About 6 are keen to ride a half day on Sun as well.
If we havent wrecked Bobs new bike by then well be riding on Mon as wellDisclaimer: Im sure everyone knows what there in for, if you dont, check the report from last time.
There is nothing hardcore but it is a long day with limited stops and it is in the middle of nowhere. If the weather is as good are they are saying it will be pearler :woohoo:
PS I cant wait to scratch up all these new bikes 👿July 28, 2012 at 7:58 pm #226861Sounds good Ev, sandwiches, pie and chips will be fine.
Got my headlight working so getting home in the dark won’t be a drama either.

July 28, 2012 at 9:55 pm #223282Ev
I consider my bike to be no longer new  In fact in three weeks I’ll have had it for a year
It has scratches on scratches except where the plastic is new and that was because the scratch went right through the plastic
but I no longer worry about that :pinch:
Food idea is good
