I have read on another forum that many Adv`ers on here also frequent, that a punter has gone over the edge with his V Strom at Monaghans Bluff on the Bridal Track

He is reportedly alive and was conscious at the bottom (Stuffed if I know how) and was helivacced to hospital…

For those of us that have ridden that trail and seen the rockfall area, it is a damn big drop down that cliffface to the Macquarie River.
Yes, the trail was signposted as closed to traffic and has been for a number of years, but some still seem to be attempting to pass through there and this will only now add to the authorities argument to have permanent barriers positioned at each end I reckon !!!

I do hope old mate recovers from his mishap, also hope he doesn`t find he is required to pay in full for his chopper rescue (which is highly likely seeing the trail was “closed”) :S

More sad to see yet another great piece of riding and historically rich trail lost, most than likely forever to us like minded riders :(

What do you expect from an adventure rider? Trail bike riders would never go where we not supposed too! O

If you can fall that far and survive on your trail bike, I will be surprised

They reckon old mate fell 70m, I think it`s most likely higher than that and the rocks where he landed are huge :pinch:

There is a pic on ADV and one of the inmates apparently has access to a vid as well ,,,

It was never in doubt mate,
He`s apparently from the ACT and there is a pic of the rescue and now pics of his silver Strom on the rocks online on ADV forum

It didn`t catch fire, but that`s probably all it`s good for now :pinch:

Bugger. He looks familiar, although I don’t do ADV riding. Best of luck hopefully he recovers without any nasty permanent damage.
