So sorry to hear of Mals passing, a true gentleman and great bloke. Never was the quote “Only the good die young” more appropriate.

Its humbling to read the tributes especially TB’s, so thanks to those who have taken the time to share their thoughts that help paint a picture of the kind of man he was.

It is really hard for me to put words together to do justice to the bloke we are now missing, Mal really was a true Gentleman, in the real sense of the word. I know myself that I will forever be thinking of him because it just isn’t fare. He put up a good battle against what was dealt out to him and he put in his usual gutsy effort. So everytime I see lumpy clouds I’ll be thinking of “Mals rhythm section” in the sky and how he’ll be wheelstanding and blasting through it.
Mal, you will always be in our hearts and minds.
    Godspeed

Am planning on leaving here around 8am to get me there in plenty of time for a rest & a coffee & bite to eat prior to the service. I should arrive around 10 (traffic permitting)
Let me know if you guys are planning something similar & we may be able to meet up somewhere close to the Church.

    See you tomorrow guys ,,,,

Well, yesterday this champion little bloke was layed to rest. The service was very moving indeed. It would probably be one of the biggest funerals that I have ever attended. I reckon 300+ at least. The tributes (many of them) where truley amazing. Though I only new about 6 people there, this Guy had so many many friends that loved hime dearly and will miss him as much. Even though I had only known him for a short time, the help that he gave me with advice and bits for my bike was fantastic. Getting GOOD advice from some one selling spares is hard to get and that’s probably why he worked at Sutto’s. The quality of the staff there is number 1.

Well said Gaz. It was an emotional day the biggest I have ever been to, getting up and delivering the speech that Mal had written for me to read had me in a panic. Salina kept telling me talk slow and clearly  I was doing alright until the two young girls got up, they were incredible but there wasnt a dry eye in the place with Brett’s farewell speech eh?

The people there didn’t surprise me know what a person he was

    Won’t forget you mate R.I.P.

    Too right mate:(

It was an inspirational insight into the great man that he was. I so wanted to step up & speak when the guy asked for people, just to say that I had only personally met Mal once or twice (other than the phone conversations from time to time), but one meeting was all you need to be consumed by his infectious personality.
If I had of stood up there I reckon I would have lost it like Brett did to tell the truth, I also felt it innapropriate for a stranger to the rest of the family to get up,,,,,

Really glad I went to the farewell anyway, I feel more comfortable about his pasing now.
