Excellent day, excellent company, excellent country.

Met up with Menace this AM travelled up to Urbenville area (to Qlders that’s near the “Bong”, Benny (Wyldman/Dropped at birth and young local gun Mick were patiently waiting, so after a few intros, we geared up and off we went.

Benny took lead followed by the ever smiling Mr Menace, yours truly in third possy and young Mick as sweep. In all my years working and living round here I have never sen the trails so chopped out and dusty, dust and ruts and rocks, this comes I s’pose as a result of the professional tour operators leading 500-1000 at a time up in here. Well anyway the first rocky climb brought me unstuck, just a silly little front deflection that put me on my side, but 30 seconds later with my mandatory “off” done for the day Mick and I set about catching the other 2. And so it went, rocks, dust, winding S/T and D/T, a few stops to rehydrate and some good little hills and downhill runs, a snake or two, bugger all water and 3 hrs in the saddle.

Good times, Good Blokes, Good bikes.

Thanks you Blokes, was agood few hours of fun as usual.

Good O, look forward to it. :)

How do us Mexicans compare riding wise, seeing as how we only just got wind of that fang dangled invention called the wheel ?

We rode for the future (70%) but the big fella handled it with ease, couple of good knarly little climbs he nailed them and got some two wheel drifts going as he rounded me up.. apparently sick of eating my roost ( I told him the warlock spits it out). he rode just behind Benny most of the day, seemed to be comfortable there.

All old bulls are good blokes.
    It’s the age group ;)

Nice to see you guys had fun. Is that your first OBT based ride Bruce?

You obviously didn’t let Menace have a go of the warlock as it’s back at your home in one piece :P Menace goes okay on a bike, his horrible facial disfgurement doesn’t seem to effect him when sealed under a helmet :P

I’ll look forward to the video :)

What a sensational day. Left coast at 7 and out to the Bong for a nice brappp followed by a nice cool off at the falls! Very powdery, glad I was leading, good riders all very capable! Will throw up a vid once this hang over clears! Big night on the rums lol :P

Gee here I am s’posed to be cleaning b4 heading out to tamworth for the weekend, instead sitting here grinning like a goon…

Yeah Moto first OBT based ride, Mr Menace turned down a ride on the Warlock, but i did take his 300 for a ride through a makeshift S/T in dense pine, and I was very impressed with the turning, and those 300 motors are still the most versatile thing around, so I did a couple of log hops to check out the PDS improvements, it has come a long way (his is also revalved and resprung) but PDS is still PDS as i took the warlock over the same logs 10 minutes later and direct comparo tells me a linkage doesn’t “shock” as much, so Mr KTM when ya gunna admit it’s dead?.

Benny did well for a bloke who hasn’t ridden for 5 months, you’d never pick it was like he’d ridden the day before and was rock solid as usual, and Menace handled all the knarly stuff with great aplomb, and there were some nasty descents that could bring a bloke unstuck big time if he didn’t know his stuff, had young Mick breathing down my neck the whole time and had the impression he was being nice and respecting his elders as he coulda taken me anytime :).

Still can’t believe how dusty and rutted it is I have never ridden in dustier conditions and this area is usually moist and damp, mongrel 952 was sliding everywhere anytime i got anywhere near the power threatening to spit me off, those tyres are damn dangerous.

I can’t believe the luck I have up here, thousands of excellent tracks to pick close by and every ride I go on the company is top notch.

Gunna do it next year bigger and better, with camping thrown in for fun, and Benny you are a born lead rider IMHO.

    Hey Mr blue

I think our man Menace is onto something here. In a week he has ridden with me on the Coffs Coast, Bill at Rollands Plains and your good self on the Border ranges. If you and Bill are keen we should organise a week next year that takes in all three locations for a group of OBT’s. From Bill’s to mine is 2 hours and then another two hours to Kyogle.

Certainly would make for a good roadtrip.

    Cheers
