I have now completed just under 3500km since I purchased the KTM640. The bike came with a near new Michelin Desert on the front and a near new Dunlop 908 Rally Raid on the rear.
While I was initially happy with the feel of the Michelin Desert on the front as soon as it started to wear it was evident that the front of the bike became more unstable and unpredictable as time wore on. The wheels have been properly balanced and I have completed around 50% Ashphalt, 50% Dirt with this front tyre.
After discussions with TB he has always said that the Dunlop 606’s are a good alround tyre to use on these bikes. And after looking at the wear on his tyres on the Tenere I couldn’t argue that point, however I have decided to go with the Pirelli Rally front 90/90 21 just to throw another tyre in the mix for reveiw.
I will keep you posted when this tyre has completed as many k’s as the Michelin. ;)

As you can see from the photos the Michelin has worn quite bad on the double blocks and the block beside the centre block. The new tyre is the Pirelli Rally
