Reg: If you want to join the People’s Front of Judea, you have to really hate the Romans.
Brian: I do!
Reg: Oh yeah, how much?
Brian: A lot!
Reg: Right, you’re in.Dont get me started on the Romans
Reg: All right, but apart from the sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh water system and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
Attendee: Brought peace?
Reg: Oh, peace – shut up!
Reg: There is not one of us who would not gladly suffer death to rid this country of the Romans once and for all.
Dissenter: Uh, well, one.
Reg: Oh, yeah, yeah, there’s one. But otherwise, we’re solid.March 10, 2010 at 7:17 am #172943Happy Birthday Mick (and Jeffro)
Arrived at TB’s around lunch on Thursday. Started unloading amongst all the Backyard Blitz Invasion. Mal arrived soon after, so we started loading our loan trailer – a covered in, bogie axle jobby (courteousy of Ghostrider). Off we go…….straight to the local grog shop to assume the position so the owner could put his kids through Uni with the profit from one transaction! Anyway, I just wanted some lube and to get going!
Next stop, SUTTOS.
Mal is now eligible for a return flight to the Moon and back…….. then back to the Moon again…due to his Suttos frequent flyer points accumulation!!! Top effort.
We got going…..but, as per usual, due to TBs’ lack of throttle control. We had to refuel at the Twin Caltexs. We also had the customary McDonalds meal that everybody has to have whenever they’re on a roadtrip. Mal & I had a few refreshments to try and prevent our feelings being hurt by the constant barbs being javelined at us by TB! He was in prime form and ripping it into us. At one point TB hurled Mals’ special triple distilled, carbon filtered, custom decantered, individually bottled by a Virgin (hard to find West of Lithgow!) Specialized 4 DAY WATER (bottled in a 2nd hand “Farmers Best” 1 litre milk bottle) OUT THE WINDOW AT 110kmph.
I must admit….Mal and I were kind of poking the TB spider with a stick! It was a top trip up.
TB backed the Big rig down Micks driveway without any dramas..and there it stayed for the next few days. We unloaded and prepared everything accompanied by Pizza, Rum, Beer and Banter. A Great night in the Famous, or is it Infamous “MICKS SHED”
It’s just about all been said about the Friday and Saturday Rides. A couple of hightlights for me were:
# The Old Man Gumby putting along in his ute out in the Forest in the middle of nowhere, sucking on the Amber fluid at 9am!
# TB’s laydown is a tricky steep in, steep out creek. No photographic evidence – but we all have the picture in our minds! – he does have the rare human moment now and again.
# Spider body parts, spider guts and golden webs all over the our bikes from Ollies Magical Mystery Tour through some very seldom used tracks (I think he may have been making it up as he went!) I saw him with his Map, Sextant and stop watch a couple of times! – It was a terrific leg of the trip though – well done Ollie.
# Bollocks supreme effort on both days….it would be hard to find a more determined rider…determined to keep getting up and determined to enjoy himself…….Salt of the Earth and funny as hell.
# Boulders get off…a cracka….and then TB waiting for the Magic phrase to be uttered by Boulder to signal he’s OK…..”Good As Gold”….Once TB heard this….He dumped the clutch, filled him in and buggered off.
# Mals girly bike horn whenever he got near Murph! Quickly followed by Murph filling him in with 525 roost.
# “Reclause Man” regular appearances with undies on the outside of his outfit!
# Conversing with Mick and Mal through the helmets. Gold that…a bit distracting at times when your laughing so hard your crying!
# Mals tyre changing practice – beaut.
# Mick n Mels hospitality
# Mal warning me about a large puddle on a right hander that was extremely slippery before it…..problem was I was right on his arse in a huge two wheel drift going into the said puddle at mach 2 as the call came through! Somehow, it stayed in the rolling position.
# RiderX & crews’ supreme effort to prep. the Boot camp tracks! Much appreciated mate…..Thanks.
# Ash monstering his WR – has a top note when on it!
# How Slippery were those tracks at times?
# TBs’ coolant draining and radiator modification school…very effective!
# Great to see all from last year and some new faces this year!
# Jeffros sunglasses come hairband.
# R-her R-her R-her —- The MOOSE mating call. Even though he was worn out, he was still smiling and laughing until he finally got that little Orange Austrian motorized pushbike up that huge hill on Saturday. (Burple would have got up it 1st time!!!!)
# Bollocks’ Cake – …………what can you say, well done mate.
# Top feed on Saturday evening
# Great trip home………..TB stayed in the rear of the Falcon the WHOLE way home. A great effort by TB to not be in control for over 4hrs!!! I managed to frustrate the hell out of him by sticking to the speed limit and not having to refuel.A Great Weekend………thanks everyone…Me and the Supertanker had a terrific time!

March 17, 2010 at 9:54 am #173154Just worked out how to get routes onto Google earth. Here is the friday ride route, I didn’t save the Saturday one unfortunately.
March 17, 2010 at 10:03 am #173539Jeffro that is awesome!!! You can see the bits I lead, we actually went somewhere in a straight bearing. It also proves that Ollie was leading us around in circles.
How cool is that!! Top job mate.
March 17, 2010 at 10:06 am #173544Yes proves Ollie was lost like everybody thought  and Mick only comes to life when a thread has wauchope or nis name in the title

It didn’t feel like we travelled that far.
Ollie, you did good mate
. The tracks were excellent :woohoo:
The XR boys are just upset cause they need 10m and 8 gears to turn the big girls around. And the rippers were getting caught up in the vines.
