Thanks Bruce, she is tidy alright,it has been only dropped once and the right hand side cover has a few scratches and that is all. I can’t wait to ride it,I will probably knock off a bit early today and take it for a squirt this arvo. Can’t have TB being the first to ride it tomorrow.
June 11, 2009 at 2:35 am #139052I will be the first to crash it but  , and do a decent wheelie since Mick has taken delivery of it

Don’t be to sure big fella, as I will probably ride it to Moose’s place this arvo……I have been known to crack a good wheelie or two on his road in the past.I am also known for a fairly decent crash on the same road:blush:
June 11, 2009 at 4:28 am #138979Couple of things for you to think about Mick
* Inspect on a regular basis the spring-loaded part attached to the choke plate on the carburetor rear intake opening. If the spring breaks from fatigue (from excess running with the choke on or half on), it can lead to the flapper being drawn into the combustion chamber and cause engine failure. An alternate solution is to remove the flapper and spring from the choke plate, which can be done while still in the carburetor. The only drawback is the bike might take three kicks to start when cold. Mine is removed completly, never have any trouble starting it, lot safer when its not in there
* The stock chain uses a staked/clipless master link (endless chain). A bike with this much torque will break conventional clip-type master links it is proven, crash and I normaly run these
* If you experience a boil-over situation with your coolant, consider switching to a radiator cap with a 1.6 or 1.8 rating (stock is 1.1). I have fitted a 1.8 to mine and had no dramas and more but the downside to going to a higher rating is it puts more pressure in the system, especially the hoses and fittings. This increases their susceptibility to punctures and other damage. Remember, this liquid-cooled bike should not sit and idle for long periods without airflow through the radiators. Additionally, the system is designed to boil over and has a coolant catch to handle the escaping fluid. This does not equal overheating, a common misconception.
I have some other things to talk about tomorrow evening be good
with an aleTB
June 11, 2009 at 5:28 am #139063Hey Lads do the BRPs’ run a 520 chain?, cause I’ve fairly well always run clip type masterlinks even on big HP roadbikes, never ever lost one yet, but they run a much heavier gauge and pitch.
June 11, 2009 at 5:38 am #139075Yeah Bruce they do run 520’s, I have always used a clip style chain joiner. I now have a great chain tool that will do the rivet style so I might give that a whirl.
I just bought the first bit of BLING for the big girl, a set of Renthal Fat bars and some risers for it. Mud n Tar looked after me again on the price!! CHeers Boys.

Nice looking bike mick very nice!Yeah..!!!! I noticed the dented pipe too……..That would have to cost the big fella a couple of horse powers?
But I will tell you, it still makes a good bar table and ash tray holder for the shed.
