February 17, 2011 at 10:11 pm #196982Yes Boony I love my 08 model and I loved my 99 model too. They go fast and go anywhere but so do a lot of bikes. Get ya bum on one so ya can see if one suits ya.MMMMMMMMMM alright
February 17, 2011 at 10:14 pm #196984Thats good positive feedback Dusty,, thank you for that, do you feel there light enough for serious trail riding????
February 17, 2011 at 10:20 pm #196985yes mate no worries with the weight at all. great in the air over mounds and up hills they just keep pullin. Good if ya stack it too as they are nice and light and kick start heaps easy.
February 17, 2011 at 10:30 pm #196986So their light enough for some serious trail riding. thats good news,, but what about their power, I do hear the lack in this department ,
I have heard and seen that they struggle in our local hills , however ! in their defence the people that own them that I have ridden with have been known to be a tad over weight, do you feel Can they handle the variance in wieght in riders in a capable way???????Boony
February 17, 2011 at 10:45 pm #196987they shit all over the “predator” for power
February 17, 2011 at 10:54 pm #196994He is refering to a DRZ400E, 2007 model!

A DRZ400E,
February 17, 2011 at 11:08 pm #196997about the same power as a ktm530 boony just got to rev them once the powervalve spring and the jetting are set .a bit doggy standard and use heaps of fuel(fine once jetted properly)now a 6 speed could help the 5 speed a bit gappy in the box(2010)not tryed a 2011 one but.won t be much good on your adventer rides but
February 17, 2011 at 11:11 pm #197001lack of power …..?? havent missed my 510 boony! seriously you wouldnt know yourself jumping up from the DRZ i know there a good reliable bike (DRZ) but i actually find less maintanence on this 300 to the husky and the suspension is just worlds apart , it puts out good power and with the different power valvesprings and needles and jets that come with the bike you can set the power to the way you want it to come on. You followed around me at coffs and saw what the power is like and also when you were buggered at the end of the ride i was still pretty fresh as they are also light , if it was me id trade the drz in , lets face it its not like you ride your bike every now and then if you outlay the cash you are goin to get your moneys worth out of it. just 2 bobs worth
February 17, 2011 at 11:16 pm #197004the ktm 200 is a better bike for single track but
February 17, 2011 at 11:22 pm #197005you bloody Idiots… you are playing into Boony’s hands??
Fancy a DRZ400 rider asking if a 300 two banger has enough power for serious trail riding??It would eat your yellow shitter for breakfast Boony ,so stop stirring the resident Kato riders and have a go on one.
I rode a brand new , literally out of the box one, at louee and was impressed. I will say that the 300 gasser seems to have more “tractor power” though from what I have seen.
