Chucked a sickie today and went for a run up to Bulahdelah via back roads and forest trails. All up 330km’s, 5.5 hours of ride time plus about 40 minutes of stopped time, big day. There was about 60km’s of tar then about 100k’s of fire trail, twin trail and single trail, then another 20k’s of tar into Bulahdelah. Had a quick feed then came home via a shorter route wich was mostly tar but had some really nice twisty mountain roads along the way. Didn’t get many pictures, too busy riding, it took about 3.5 hours to get there and 2 hours to get back but that included a 20Km + circle where I missed a turn and went through Booral and Stroud twice. I ran over a tree snake/python thingy (went back to check on it and it seemed ok), a black snake (didn’t check on him) and a goanna on the tar roads, he just ran straight under my wheels as I was under brakes coming into a corner. Also come into a corner to find a truck using all the road, I’m not sure who got the biggest scare, him or me. He certainly put on a big swerve to get out of my way. Luckily I wasn’t going all that fast as it was a blind corner and I was prepared for just such an event.
I will post it up and do it again in the near future, I am a bit booked out for the next 3 or 4 weeks so it might not be until May or even June but hopefully before then.
