December 6, 2008 at 12:18 am #113929mickust check the needle the standard needle had no adjustment
December 6, 2008 at 3:11 am #113951THanks X for posting the jetting and your other advice. Mickust, I put a Pro-Circuit T4 pipe on, however after much research I have found that stock pipe with a different endcap (Have been told the GYTR one) will get you pretty much the same performance as the aftermarket pipe. The only other mods so far is Force Bashplate, Force Radiator Guards, Michelin M12 rear tyre. ANd now the pivot pegz. The 07 and 08 are identical from what I can find out.
Cheers
Chris.

Ollie have you had any experience with the 290kit, just wondering how much more it gives it.. Not that I need anymore right now but could be in the future. I assume it’s a barrel and piston/rings.

December 6, 2008 at 3:16 am #113953Forgot, I’m also running standard 13/52, spares kit also came with a 14, I would put that on when we do our capertee rides as it is a lot more open than the watagans.
Rider X, the needle that came with the spares kit does not have the clip with it, does the stock one have the clip.
Cheers
Chris.December 6, 2008 at 5:00 am #113955you use the clip of the needle when you swap you can do that with out taking carby of you come in from top of carby

AnonymousYou can do a couple of mods to your stock muffler. Remove the internal baffles as described in this post on TT. It is a big read, but I think it is well worth considering if you own a late model WR.

The other option is to simply make up a new endcap as previously mentioned. The endcap mod works for WRF 250/450 05-09 models. If you know someone on a mature riders dirtbike forum, who works in a big maintenance workshop full of seamen, maybe slip them a bottle of Bundy rum and request a foreign order. The design in the pic is made from 3mm plate and 35mm S/S tube. It doesnt need to be 3mm plate, thinner would suffice. Maybe a batch run could be done as they can be used on all models as specified above, and it seems that there are a few of these bikes on the forum.

These are sold on ebay for $55 plus $5.50 postage. Item # 260323358306
I won’t address the optimum jetting recommendation request as I know nothing about WR jetting with various modified exhaust systems.

December 8, 2008 at 6:21 am #113961Cheers fellas I’ll grab ones of those end caps and swap them jets over and let ya know how it all goes
December 9, 2008 at 12:04 pm #113908Hey X how do you adjust the mixture? I’m not quite 1/2 smart when it comes to carbs! got the main pilot and needle sorted though. Cheers
December 9, 2008 at 9:53 pm #114188
AnonymousMick, mixture is normally adjusted on a screw on your carbie body. It can be adjusted on the fly and it’s external. Check with your manual and it will more than likely have a picture pointing the very item
Good luck with the mods….
December 10, 2008 at 2:18 am #114200Na no easy access mixture screw on the 07 WR250 its a bitch to get to! Ballards sells a kit for it $17 gives a user freindly external mixture knob!
December 10, 2008 at 4:04 am #114268
AnonymousReally, that sucks. Sounds like it would be $17 well spent then. Gotta love Ballards
