I am still commuting on it, currently 160ks a week;) So it will be just about cactus by then matey,,,,,,Do you run your off road tyre on the road???
Yep, MITAS STONEKING ,,, Just ask TB, he has seen the progress on it sivs I put it on last November:P
Iv`e got a dunlop road/trail tyre in the shed and I was paying $12.00 to change my nobby to my roady if i was going to use the suzuki to commute all the time, just bought a new set of levers and now 1 hour 5 beers later I do it myself and if keeps mmy nobby fresh for the dirt
June 16, 2009 at 11:07 am #139801I Hour, WTF????
How are ya gonna run in the next A4DE wuth tyre changs times like that:P
Gotta get it down to 10 mins mate:laugh:
I can`t be bothered changing all the time, thats why I got the Stoneking & just run it permanently.
I have changed the tube in it once at home though,,,,,June 16, 2009 at 11:09 am #139824I am of the opinion that a good dirt tyre will not last on the road. Likewise a good road tyre will not last on the dirt – or if it does it will not grip. When I was riding my DR250 regularly on the road I had two sets of tyres, one 80/20 road tyres and one knobbies. Swapped them as I needed.
No other takers on the surveyor then? Boony? You definately in mate?
June 16, 2009 at 11:10 am #139825Set of those yoko wheels Boony and the shop could fit the tyres for you when you buy them for no extra cost (or they should if you buy them from them) and you could swap wheels over in 5 mins and relax and drink your beers
TB

Yeah, but don’t we all need the practice at tyre changes TB? Doesn’t take long to get rusty at it if you don’t do it very often…

I have changed the tube in it once at home though,,,,,It would take me the entire A4de to change a tyre lol The reason it takes an hour is the beers fault

I always reckon if you time me on a tyre change you’d better have hour hands on the stopwatch!
