Guess I cant laugh too much, as I struggled too.

It was probably the hardest, most technical 3 12 hrs hours of riding I have ever done, and given the choice of doing that kind of ride or the easy way home, I wouldve opted for the easier ride.
They said it would be grade 3, was easily grade 4 or 4+

That type of grade will take a few years to get good at, you dont just turn up and take it on.

Looks like you had a good ride down there Riggs, did Hatto take you on a track called the Horse Shoe trail?

    4Skin,

Think that was in the original plan but due to time ( 1 flat, 1 drowned ) we skipped it.

Lucky, last time I went down there with Hatto he went over the bars on the way down and slid down on his back like he was on a bobsled, my brother went over the bars there as well, its pretty steep and rocky.

I had no plans to take the 2″ish down there, but thought about it for the other group had we split at the start

I think your talking about peppers gap, not sure I’ve been on the horse track with you yet LC, but we can change that

I wasn’t sure where they were going to take you on the return leg Riggs, and I hope it didn’t spook you for the future, I’m sure it wasn’t their intention, at least there was plenty of help and everybody got back in one piece.
The positive is that you did make it through and now you know you can. It’s not a bout doing it super fast, it’s about having a go and completing it when you thought you couldn’t.

I thought that one was called the Horse Shoe because its where the horses race, I guess not.

Do they have food at Wandy now?

Horses usually go through jurassic Park, and then down through the horse track.

Yes, and fuel but if in a big group ring ahead-lesson learned.

The grading system is a guide. And I know I’m guilty of getting too hung up on it.

We ride dirt. Dirt changes – constantly. That’s why we like it. If we wanted a ride that was exactly the same each time we did it we’d ride tar.

The smiles on the faces in the carpark at the end of the day said it all. :woohoo: :woohoo: We had a ball. I think we all got challenged in some way or another, but we got through it and we’ll be better riders for it.

    Agree Cathi, Its cool Hatto,

Im not bagging anyone out, just saying what I did.

If we’d done that hard stuff at the start of the day we may have handled it better, being fresh and all.
I guess ppl will always rate rides differently, but thats why we use a Grade system too.

And yes Im pleased I got thru ( with help ) …. another noob thru Devils Playground, that’ll piss TC off no end …” Make em harder, ya big girl TC” :P :P :P
