Not that I actually do much riding, but I have never had a flat tyre from puncture, whilst trail riding.

Which tyre normally gets the most punctures? Is there any trend as to which tyre usually cops it?

Front generally because it is the first to smash that big bundy. Spent the week end riding some new BMW G450Xs and we got two flat fronts within ten minutes of each other. Some poeple carry a 19″ because you can use it in the rear and strech it into the front (but it is a bitch to do)> I just carry a front because you can just ziptie on the rear if you have to.

Fronts for me, pinched tubes (high country ride 2006 had 3 in one day)even ultra heavy duty tubes can be pinched when you drop pressures searching for traction. Also damaged rims, dented front rims when using tubes and low pressure was a problem I solved when I switched to mousses.
Think I have only had two rear flats that I can remember in my adult life, once because of hitting a hole and broke two spokes, I stopped and saw the broken spokes, turned for home and soon had a flat from the spokes not be cable tied and piecing the tube. The other was from to low a pressure at Louee because of the rocks and 14psi

Last time I was at Louee, Tom had a huge sign posted in his shed saying something like “ALL TYRES TO BE AT 18 PSI”. I guess he got fed up with putting in new tubes, for which he normally doesn’t charge for labour, just the tube itself.

Rear for me nail/wire on a ride to Orange and back with TB, tried patching 3 or 4 times before TB got the shits with my patience and threw the tube into a tree near Hill end so I put the a 21″ front in the rear which got us home approx 400ish kms pull it out and kept it for a spare looks good.

That could go in the ride reports, would love to see your thoughts on such a big move into the market by BMW Fossil

I only get rear flats here guys as the KTM front wheel hardly touches the ground, I suppose it would be a Honda thing to get front flats. Seriously its more an inflation issue or lack of it that causes dramas, front or rear !!!
