What sort of a ride starts at lunchtime? Bloody Crash. The ride was for Crash and the lunchtime start was for Crash and all you could hear was the sound of a forklift as he backed out of the ride
So Mal 5.1 turned up at 12. We kitted up and headed off to Windsor to meet the boys at the pub. Going through the main street of Penrith, pulled up at a set of traffic lights, the XR still cold and the clutch a touch sensitive, Mal says in the Bluetooth ‘Lean forward and lets race off the lights!’ So the lights changed, the big grabby clutch on the fiddy engages and I stall the XR  So there I am sitting in the middle of the intersection where the bike rolled. The big XR flamed out and Mal laughing like a demented hyena while the big XR flamed out in the middle of the intersection
After a flurry of kicking finally I get going. I rounded Mal up (no challenge there) and we arrived at Windsor with no further flame outs
Met up with everyone at the pub at Windsor. MickG turned up on his ‘rent-a-wreck’. The thing looks like an aircraft carrier and we were worried when we were parked near the air base at Richmond that they might try and land planes on it so we got going to prevent a disaster
Mal (Suttos) mate turned up on a 625 KTM complete with knobblies  and we headed off up the Putty Road. A couple of quick pointers to Mal 5.1 over the Bluetooth on what is actually an overtaking lane and what isn’t. We arrived at Colo servo for a top up of fuel. We left Colo and it wasn’t long before Mal (Suttos) started displaying some two-up wheelstanding on the 990 Kato  That was with his partner Natalie as pillion :silly: What a girl! What a display of riding! I hate riding with someone who can ride better than me
By this stage I was looking for a H3 wooden pencil to puncture both my ear drums so I didn’t have to listen to Mal whinging all the time about his bike revving too hard
We continued up to Milbrodale where my bike ran out of fuel. WTF!! The first bike to turn up after Mal 5.1 was Ross who we passed somewhere and then he had to chase us for about 50kms. Switched it on to reserve and did a quick trip to Broke for fuel. When we pulled up at the bowsers at Broke an old guy came rushing up, my immediate thought was who have we cut off or who have we passed on double yellows? He said that a creepy looking bloke with a creepy looking comb-over on a Kawasaki left a message to say that he would meet us at Wollombi. Mal 5.1 said that description had to be Eagle. We quickly fueled up and took off after Beagle. We motored nicely to Paynes Crossing where Mal (Sutto’s) displayed some more two-up wheelstand on the 990  It was on a little section of Private Road that MickG noticed Aiden wheelstanding along at 130kms an hour on the 640 with beers in an esky on the backAfter Paynes Crossing Fred had a huge moment on his knobby shod 625 where he ended up using every inch of the wrong side of the road. Not long after this I came across Beagle wandering down the road like a lost soul
Turned around and we rode into Wollombi. We pulled up at the Dr Jurds pub at Wollombi where it was necessary to rehydrate as it was a very warm day in the jackets. From there we rode into Millfield out through Quorrobolong along Sandy Creek Road.
After Mulbring we came across 2 banjo/fiddle playing interbreeds that obviously had ridden down from Wauchope that were having a private drag race. I said to Mal 5.1 quick watch this, let’s go. We sooted past them :laugh:I got them on the straight and then called Mal through on the Bluetooth and he has passed them on the bend on the outside. We pulled up at the next intersection and laughed at them as they headed off to Wauchope with the tune of deliverance left ringing in our ears
We left there, over Mount Sugarloaf, look in my mirror and I see MickG, the man with by far the most comfortable seat, standing up. We stopped at West Wallsend, said goodbye to Ross and Eagle because it was halfway through the ride. From there we ducked over to Dan’s and Kylie’s. I have some photos and I will post them later.
Mal (Sutto’s), Natalie, Aiden and Fred hightailed it back to Sydney. The plan to push on to Moto’s was aborted as we had too many rums before we realized. We have since demolished 7 pizza’s and Kylie has been good enough to type this ride report up for me.TB
January 16, 2010 at 7:13 pm #168343:laugh: Creepy Bloke, Creepy Combover, Lost Soul
What was I supposed to do when I had made it to Wollombi a bit earlier than expected, I rode up to Broke, fuelled up, had a cool drink, sat in the shade for half an hour, then ran into a nice bloke with his wife on roadies.
I got a bit concerned that I couldn`t get hold of TB still on the blower by 3.30, so I took the run back to Wollombi incase they had changed the plan & come up thru Laguna instead :laugh:Turns out they hadn`t & were running a tad later than expected, so I bumped into then just out of Wollombi again
Good to meet Mal(Suttos), Natalie & the guys, Ross too. Also good to catch up with Mal 5.1 & the ever smilimg MickG again (That Strom was huge Mick  )As it was a bit late when we headed back towards Newy TB decided to bypass the stopover at the Nest (so i have some black cans to drink by myself now)
Sorry I couldn`t spend more time with the guys, but I was knackered after the first week on the new job & a 4am start sat morning :blink:Have a safe ride today Dudes & say G`Day to Beemer for me on the Central Coast

January 18, 2010 at 1:05 am #168448First i would like to thank all involved for a great 2 day ride just what the doctor ordered after not having a ride for a while due to work commitments. It wasn’t dirt but you all know any riding is better than know riding, and i was so keen i went and hired the DL V Storm that TB acuratley described as a big lounge chair but how much fun can sitting on the lounge be :woohoo:
First and foremost thanks to Kylie and the mature one for there hospitality great to catch up again, i had great night and Good kylie with your new position looking after the girls that want to be involved in this sport.
Nice to see you eagle and to have a beer and catch up next time i hope it will be for more than just one.
Thanks TB for organising and leading as usual a great job, keep practising and you could ride like Mal (sutto’s) one day. Mal as usual it was a pleasure great company how you listened to TB all that time i dont know
Also nice to meet Mal, Nat, Ross, Fred, Aidan, and wldbeemer.
As usual i was just a passenger so i couldn’t even tell you where we went. So ill just mention my highlights.
Aidan bouncing the Kato to get the front up at 100ks then holding it up to 130 on a private road off course.
Fred using all the road and some as he came in to hot on knobbies.
Beer at Wollombi
Beer and pizza at Dans
Breakfast somewhere sunday
Sitting behind TB through some bends somewhere trying my best to stick to his back tyre on the lounge chair and not doing a bad job as reported by Mal as he was behind giving TB a comentry on how close i was and that the paniers nearly scraping the ground.
Not getting wet when the rain was all around us on the way home.
Thanks again to all involved and see next time.
