From what I learnt on the phone from Dave yesterday I wouldnt hold your breath and wouldnt wait to be overly amazed in my opinion.-CONDEMNATION WITHOUT INVESTIGATION IS THE HEIGHT OF ARROGANCE, Sorry TB but its true

There are improvements that was agreed, but its a compromise within a compromise and its only making it run cooler which I for one have issues with, but there hasn’t been any dyno testing to date and no exhaust gas analysis under load so who really knows whats besides they make the engine run cooler?

    So I wait as well

    TB

I will pass your feelings and thoughts to Bull:(

He should be back on air next week

I have from the start said there are some gains here but how much was always my question

No Dave you said and I quote “We set it for the middle of the engine rev range as do the manufacturers, bu we improve it to a wider window but it is still a compromise” Thats what you said didnt you? And I agreed with you didnt I

You where also asked to pass on what we spoke about here instead of on the phone which you said you would do yesterday but didnt

So for you to say I am the following CONDEMNATION WITHOUT INVESTIGATION IS THE HEIGHT OF ARROGANCE
is a touch hard when investigation is all I and others here are tyring to do isnt it?

Maybe blind faith is something you should look into because I am trying to investigate this with others here?

Nobody’s trying to burn you Dave, it’s just a thread was started with some bold claims and to date there has been no proof (or seemingly willingness) to back it up. I’m not sure what the intention of the original post was, but with heindsight I guess this was to be expected which is why I feel sorry for the crap you’re getting from me and everyone else :P

I think the best way to go forward is to cool this thread until we have more information or it’s agreed we jazz up a test bike with ‘Motocool’ :)

Without going into very expensive testing there is some cheap and easy tests to do first.

Get a clear bottle and fill it 1/4 with mixed coolant as you would use it and shake if there is foam after it probably wont be suitable to run through a water pump as it will cause cavitation.

Get a 1.25L cola bottle and cut the bottom off it and push a 1m piece of 5/8 heater hose into the neck of the bottle. Remove the top radiator hose and fit the other end of the funnel to the top radiator or the y piece suppling the top of the radiators. With another piece of 5/8 hose install onto coolant outlet on the cylinder head putting other end into funnel. Fill the system and start motor you can check the flow and signs of bubbles or cavitation. You can also check pump pressure at idle by lifting the hose up from the funnel till the flow stalls.
    21 inches of water column = 1psi.

To check the system under pressure you can get some heat proof tubing and fit it in line top and bottom hoses and exit from water pump.

There are several ways to check temp. the heat stickers are fairly accurate and dont need to drill holes for thermocouples but they are the most accurate.

I would be more than happy to discuss this with anyone at Louee as long as you buy the rums while i talk

Welcome back Mr Bull, thanks for the reply and ideas have you by chance found a decent coolant that isn’t as prone to foaming?

Model T & “F” head ford V stuff eh? sometimes everything old is new again but the cooling systems look so so clean these days surely they wouldn’t cut corners to keep manufacturing prices down and engine “image”.

I’ll be buying some heat tags methinks and definitely new coolant to begin with

Yeah, welcome back Mr Bull, maybe we supply you with rums and get you to stand inthe centre of circle and tell everyone about it :P Then again, you’d get more free rums if you told everyone individually

The coolant issue is a good one and like you say an easy way to verify the properties of the coolant. I’ll try to stick to ones with low bicarbonate soda levels :P

Cheers for that Bull, will chat at Louee, and I will buy  Hey as good as heat tabs are they are really only ball park for figures like you said

As per our discussion on the phone TB, this is my first post back since speaking to you weeks ago and I said it would be on the Moto Cool thread, I still stand by what I said, but I notice you and your boyfriend  Moto have cooled off and changed your tune a little, you now concede that there would be some benefits, well what do you know, thats what I was trying to say nearly three months ago, I suppose I didnt factor into the whole thing how slow Honda riders are :P :P (hang on that does not explain Moto…..Hang on he is a Pom….makes sense now, or maybe he rode a Honda before???),
I am glad Bull is back, you can ask him yourself rather than just shooting the messenger my friend,
    cant wait for Louee,

Hope Bull gives me some of those free Rums, I just may be his booking agent and make sure he only does speak one on one so he has heaps :P :P :P

I haven’t changed any tune, I will put it out there and still say that I don’t think it’s worth anything like the effort/money required to be put in. What I did say is that I liked the easy way of checking to see if the coolant was any good, it was a handy tip.

I’m also over talking about this on the net and with Louee less than 2 weeks away I’d thought I talk to Bull there like he suggested. Also, in the 5 lines Bull wrote he managed to sound more convincing than you did in the whole 3 months you’ve been dribbling on about it

    Sorry Bull

    Dave

You have done it again and you haven’t kept your word

No one had to cool of and I never had to concede to a thing as I said from the very start and you cant understand for whatever reason “I think there are some benefits I just don’t know if they are justified”

    * It is still a compromise

    * It may improve some systems maybe even all, even 1/2 a % is an improvement

    * You can a change where the cooling system will work better in relation to rpm range

    * It is far better suited to smaller engines then large

    * And you make an engine run cooler, and cant tell me is it to cool

    * You have have no dyno testing and no gas analysis to support any of this

The above are the points we agreed to on the phone, and I took your word that you would come on the thread and explain that to all and you didn’t, just be a smart arse regarding Moto and I, we have only tried to get information to the claims you made in the first post

I have even started on your theories that bike manufacturers only make the cooling system work enough so you will have to buy parts from them and blah blah blah

As far as you being Bull’s booking agent, I think you have caused him no end of heart ache here in this thread

    TB

PS The money I was holding for you as requested for Louee I will deposit this weekend and can you please bring the remaining bits for Lochie’s bike to Louee

    Sorry again Bull
