For an over the phone it was a great price – Thanks for that too! I’d be happy to go with them if I go orange again but as much as I love my bike I’d like to try others to see if I only love it because I don’t know any better :p

And yeah any dealer can help with warranty and I think the guys at newcastle are nice enough to help out regardless where you bought.

Anything more than 10K for a 200 is top dollar in my opinion. Must be able to better than that. Dave will make you pay Rocket I’m surprised you even bothered to ask?

I can’t remember exactly rocket so best to call them and ask. It was something like $9K – 9.5K ready to ride.

TB – I know they would still help me, just feel that it’s better taking the bike back to the shop you bought it from. Generally dealers lose money on warranty claims. For the bendix to be replaced KTM Australia give the dealer 25 minutes and pay $55/hour. I don’t know what the overhead recovery rate is for KTM Newcastle but with an allowable time of 25 minutes they’ll get paid somewhere around $25.

I was shown these details on the computer. I’d feel bad buying a bike from one place and taking it somewhere else to get a warranty claim done.

True, Dave will charge like a wounded bull and most people just fork out the dough without asking questions.

I think it is almost a waste of time trying to deal locally. All the dealers within 2 hours of me that I have dealt with I walk out with a bad taste in my mouth. The bitter bitter taste of disappointment!

Do your knees hurt as well?

If so I don’t think you’re ‘handling’ the situation properly ;)

That’s true about warranty, but you missed my point that being that the about of accessories you purchase in 12 months would be more then they make on a bike with a no trade deal was my point is all

Haha that’s just wrong Moto….

I don’t want to start a dealer bashing thread again but your right Ecks, the dealers around here are unbelievable. I don’t just think it’s bike dealers too, Dubbo shop owners in general are pretty bad, maybe it’s just me. The Honda dealer in town is the worst here. I can feel them jeer and heckle me when I leave the shop. Worst shop in town. Pricks.

gees Axel they are stoopid persons, just remind them of what they’re doing for a crust, in most peoples eyes a bike salesman is just a notch up from a used car salesman, which is about 6″ below a king browns belly, you can say things like
“gee commision paid Honda bikesales eh? you obviously made some good life decisions”
    Or
“now who’s in charge around here or are there just you monkeys without a zookeeper?”

I hate condescending people, I usually do the cerebral humiliation thing to them, if they’re real stoopid as well it takes them a while to figure out you’re pulling the piss outa ’em

Yeah I know Squirrel had a bad week with wall to wall dumbass knowitall knownothings, everything they wreck is someone elses fault and never their own, so condescending salespersons and teachers are on my hitlist ATM.

    Haha awesome.

I hear you Mr C, so many of the sales people around seriously take us for fools. It’s like they are doing us a favour being there for us to hand money to. It blows my mind everytime. I’ll try and remember the zoo keeper one. Nice one :cheer:

A mate of mine here has been working up a plan to start a new dealership with the pure intention of putting them all out of business. I’m certain it would succeed too, by simply looking like he is half interested in doing his job and helping out customers with money standing in front of him. It can’t be that hard.
