I was talking to the bloke that imports sherco and he sounds keen to get more dealers if your mate’s interested.

I must say we were supposed to get an Ass Gas (I mean Gas Gas – Ass Gas was coined by yours truly) dealer out here and that didn’t happen. Ass Gas and Sherco dealer would be nice. Sadly, this part of the country is not open minded enough for these brands alone. Out here if you don’t ride a Jap bike or drive a Holden or a Ford you don’t fit in. That’s why my precious Skyline has been for sale for 6 months without a single phone call…. I bet if I slap a Commodore badge on it….
November 6, 2009 at 7:21 am #159825i thought we had a sherco dealer in Naramine axel one of erics freinds
November 6, 2009 at 7:47 am #109879So did I, but I see no new Shercos getting around and my spies in Narromine say they saw no Shercos either. I thought they were to be an Ass Gas dealer? Ah well. Maybe “Eric” can confirm. Maybe that can be your next ride Rocket, a Sherco?
November 8, 2009 at 11:47 am #159827There is indeed a sherco dealer in Narromine, nice bloke too. No idea about the GG thing though, I don’t think that is the case. Somehow I doubt he makes a heap of sales, as Axel says the minds in this area are not that open to new things. Don’t start me on the Holden/Ford thing Axel, otherwise I will start on the feral ute thing!
I wouldn’t be super keen to open a new shop in this area for that reason, and also the fact the most internet service is faster, cheaper and easier. Hell, a phone call to Sutto’s will get you what you need for cheaper and faster than the local clowns at the moment!
BTW Moto, how was the bike this weekend??

AnonymousThe bike went very well thanks ECKS. The new jetting was a lot better than stock and I would highly recommend it. I obviously can’t compare it to JD Jet Kits and the like but I can say it was much smoother than stock and beefed up the bottom end a bit too which lessens the hit of the power valve. In all it’s a more easier bike to ride.
I changed all the suspension clickers/screws front and rear to the factory ‘sport’ set-up which is firmer than the ‘standard’ set-up and found this to be better as well. Over coming weeks I may even play with it a bit more to see if I can get any further improvement.
Overall a happy camper, there wasn’t a hill (up or down), track and jump that stopped me
Riding on the road is still much worse than a 4 banger though. That and the fact I can’t wheelie it either

AnonymousI given up bothering about that Jeffro. There are so many smart arsed gits around here they can pick holes in just about anything you write
November 15, 2009 at 12:32 pm #160127Well today whilst at the D’s I one arm swapped the steering damper from Moto’s 450 onto the new 3 dinger
The dinger stripped waiting for the new upper washer which Dan modified, cheers Dan
Moto watching which is him at his mechanical best
Eagle loves to watch if you know what I mean
Here it is at the start of reassembly
Done like a kipper
From another angle
Its a neat setup the Scott damper and a nice bike
Moto then swapped the standard pegz with his pivot pegz from his 450
I had to remove both the split pins and fit them as well on the 300 but the fun was in the fitting of the standard pegz on the 450
I will let someone else tell that for now because that was funny
Oh and then he washed the 450 which shocked everybody there

AnonymousI don’t know why me washing my bike was so interesting to everyone. Even Beagle joked about it!
November 17, 2009 at 5:11 am #161284It’s weird that isn’t it Moto, people will stand and stare at you washing a vehicle, even offer tips, yet it’s not rocket engineering or anything, same blokes like to stand around BBQs in the same fashion just mermerised by the sight of meat cooking.
Must be a cave thing.November 17, 2009 at 5:20 am #161371
AnonymousThe joke is Mr Blue that I am very bad with maintenance and looking after my bike so me washing was a real surprise.
Whilst I do joke about maintenance my bike has always had the parts it’s needed and I did clean it, just not necessarily after every ride. Then again I used to ride every weekend for periods, not once every month or so like a lot of people. It’s always had decent oil and must be okay because after 7,500Km’s without a single problem and the valve clearances still in tolerance how can people complain?
I don’t always change air filters every ride either but there has never been a spec of dust behind my air filter.
In all that time I only failed to finish 1 ride and that was because my aftermarket exhaust would clamp on the header properly and kept falling off.
November 17, 2009 at 5:26 am #161375Yes you have done all that and good luck to you, good run cant complain about that for sure, are you planning on selling the bike (450) on this web site?

AnonymousNo. I’ve got a 450 that I’m selling on behalf of a friend though
Besides, who said I’m selling it?
