Motoz Tyres, I dont suppose anyone knows if they’re still manufacturing? I was planning on using a set next change, all sites site they’re out of stock? I hope not, my friend uses them on DRZ 400…It certainly hooks up much better with them, I reckon they’d be the Ducks on the big bores.

    Dunno,
We were looking at trying them one our KTM530 and someone who has a bit of an idea about things basically told me to not worry about them as they are not much chop in his opinion. So I still run the bridgestone ED12’s which I am very happy with.Depending on what sort of riding we do I get between 1000-1300km out of them,on the KTM530 or the XR600.

worst tyre I ever bought,, scared the crap out of me,, bike would slip and at the last possible minute when you just knew you were on your ass they would grip and throw you back up straight on track,, honestlly I could,nt handle them,, gave me the shakes,, I like my *******s sorry, its taken me so long to find such a top tyre I,m not sharing ha

Ive been using MX retreads for about 5 years and cant rate them highly enough,in fact I like them so much I became a dealer! They dont tear off knobs, they hang on fine, easy to fit and only cost $75 bucks each, perfect for trailriders and motocrossers alike. B)

I tried Motoz once, one ride the knobs just ripped out of the case and the dealer that recommended it didnt want to know about it. There fronts just dont look right knobs to big in my opinion. Retreads I gave a go once on my old 600, WA retreads and I didnt like it at all, seemed to stiff with no side bite, its up each person, I like a good front with small knobs to bite in and have been known to be hard on rears (destroyed in 230kms of trail riding VIC high country)
I run Michelin’s most of the time, we ran maxis at the A4DE as they kicked the tin. I find that the Michelin’s are constant all the way from new to pretty worn, the cases are strong and the range is good. Down side is that they are dearer than other brands, but you get what you pay for and they are supposed to be the go for mousse tubes although we used them with maxis’s

Hey TB,like you said each to their own, with the retreads when I know they are worn,I put new ones on,whereas if I were using the $130 plus jobs I would probably try and get an extra few rides out of them even though they were rooted (human nature I guess)
if money wasnt a problem I would be throwing a set of Metzelers MC5’s on best tyre ever and very predictable. Those were the days!!oh to be sponsored again::lol:

Yeah champ your right, I used to replace my tyres every couple of rides and my mates used to fight over them but now with kids etc I run them and find no real difference. It was years and years ago when retreads first came out, so maybe I should try a rear now on the BRP and see how it goes

how right you are,, each to his own,, my bike in Seff Efrika is an old RMX 250 and I run an intermediate Maxxis tyre front and rear with the tube filled with a sludge stuff which seals when you run over the thorns,, they seem to be wearing well but most of the blokes there have mousse tubes in the front tyre,, I will probably fit one on the bike when I get over there in September,, Here I was recommended the Dunlop enduro, I think it is the 952,my mate Desi has them on his KToom and he raved about them,so I gave them a try but only got a few hours on them before the TM stopped running,, will see on Tuesdays ride how they go…..

I’m running an dunlop 052 rear on husky 610, it hooks up well considering I run 12/45 gearing on it. Having said that, so far its’ run app. 750 k and has 2/3rd use left, i ride real quite on black top. Also as i have a Metzeler MC Karoo dual purpose on front i tend to tip toe around as it hangs on like teflon!Ive just spent a fortne to reset my bike for riding after binning on a hill. No more ill runs untill i find a tyre that gives my unit some grip!. Am thinking of dunlop 606?

Chicken has a 952 on the rear of his 600 and he swears by it and yet every Dunlop I ever tried I have sworn at. Tyres and the opinions created by them are the biggest can of worms I have every seen opened!
Couple of years ago I went on a ride down the high country with all the honda Guns, Glen Bell, Ben Grabham, to name a few, all of these guys had rooted tyres on there bikes half worn at best!! No shit !!! And these guys smoked the arse of everyone
I find something I like and use it !
