Eight of us met at Dungog for the drive into Frying Pan Campground
The road in was a bit dusty, except for me
We found Mr Squiggle and Jonsa getting ready so we all unloaded to the deafening sounds of cicadas :pinch:
We headed up the road to our first track, up hill flowing and reasonably steep and it went for ages :woohoo:
That was the theme for the day, over grown logging tracks with a single line through them :cheer:
The tracks either went up or down, when we were up you could feel the heat brewing, when we were down it was cool in the forest
A bit slippery in places, especially when one hits a hidden rock and the front end goes where it pleases   :pinch:
We were back at camp earlier than expected so it was decided to hit a challenge hill only a few hundred metres from camp. As we got higher the track got more rutted and if you were in the wrong rut that was where you stopped, luckily for those further behind the congestion showed them the better option to take
Once at the top we headed down another hill only to be told this was the challenge hill so back up most of us went :woohoo:
We found a sole single up there so rode it in both directions and headed back down the hill for a beer and lunch
Thanks to Mr Squiggle for posting and leading, and Dude for sweeping and the rest of the boys for a fun day on the bike
Video to come.

December 30, 2013 at 2:14 pm #252829Thanks to everyone for attending, dude for picking up sweep duties and to adam for organizing things while I was kicking back at camp with no phone reception.
I had a great few days riding and enjoyed running everyone through as well. I need to throw in some more technical sections to make things interesting for next time and perhaps a longer loop option would have been nice, looks like more time on the bike might be called for, lifes tough
December 30, 2013 at 6:22 pm #252830Thanks Mr Sqiggle for showing us around Barrington Tops, was interesting.
Thanks Dude for sweeping and the rest of the boys for the ride,
Cheers.December 30, 2013 at 7:54 pm #252831Thanks Mr Squiggle for leading and Dude for sweeping, was plenty of fast flowing tracks that you could get some good speed going. Some fun hills at the end and great bunch of blokes to ride with.
December 30, 2013 at 8:46 pm #252832It was an early start for most of us but all arrived on time at Dungog
Adam had called me as I was at the other end of town but got my PA instead as I had left my phone at home
My wife needed to get up to do some house work anyway
I haven’t been on a ride since Nundle
in August so the long hill climbs and long single runs soon took there toll on the fitness.
But the fun I was having :woohoo: :woohoo: being back on the bike and riding some new tracks the pain was quickly forgotten
Thanks to Mr Squiggle for organising and leading the ride and Dude for sweeping
A quick vid sorry about the shitty camera angle
