AnonymousThis isn’t really a product review more a review on a company.
The 450 came pre loaded with a MSC steering dampner which I reckon is a pretty good thing to have on your bike. A real confidence building bit of kit.
Mine has wept/leaked ever since I got the bike, not really bad but enough to know that something wasn’t right.
TB told me to ring them as it was possible that they would send me a service kit.
I rang on Monday this week and asked about a service kit and the girl said yeah no worries or if I wanted to I could just send the whole dampner down in an express post bag and a return bag as well and they would service it for me. I told her that I didn’t originally purchase it as the bike was bought second hand. That was no problem as the MSC dampners have a lifetime warranty. I thought that sounds good to me as I didn’t really want to do the dampner as well as my forks this weekend. So I sent it off on Monday arvo. I rang on Tuesday to see if they got it and was told that there could be a 3 week wait for it’s return. No biggy, but what should be on the front step this arvo? My steering dampner all serviced and ready to go. Happy days:)
I reckon that is pretty good service and rated a mention.

AnonymousYeah no complaints here – I couldn’t believe that the turn around time was so quick
Hmmm I will find another excuse for next weekend – I havent done my forks yet so that might be my excuse:P
July 31, 2009 at 8:42 am #145997Yes I never had a problem gett’n them to answer the phone but when I ordered the dampner for the bmw, it took a week longer to make than they said, apparently there was a death in the family so I did not complain.
It finally arrived but the mounting bolts weren’t in the box.
Being Friday afternoon – late, I rang them as I was keen to try it out and I knew they are pretty close to me.
They sent the bolts immediately to me at home via a very attractive young blonde lady who happened to be the owners daughter. So all up I am happy.
The damper works well but I cannot compare it as I’ve never had one before.Oh yeah, he also said to send it back every year for a free service.

July 31, 2009 at 8:56 am #145995Entertaining is an understatement mate:laugh:
One of the many timed he passed me at Nundle, he passed in mid air off an erosion mound, got a bit out of shape next to me, landed front wheel first all crossed up, BUT then launched onto the back wheel instantaneously & roosted me as he took off up the hill standin` up:blink: :laugh:Way to go Dan
You are right though TB, he was always quick on the 250R as well,,,, He just didn`t admit it:laugh:
July 31, 2009 at 8:58 am #146025I wonder if Rocstomper offer the same “free yearly service” Im getting one fitted up for the Gasgas at work now, I had the Damper but needed to manufacture a new top clamp and modify the alloy spigot.
Good service goes a long way for return customers;)

I have a rocstomper which was leaking from the bottom shaft ‘O’ ring, I rang them and they wanted $25 for an ‘O’ ring service kit + postage. No mention of free servicing. I got my ‘O’ ring kit out and serviced it myself, just replacing the leaking ‘O’ ring which is the only one that could leak outside.
