I ordered one of these for the up coming trip to Birdsville and the thought of having a good amount of water in the desert feels like a good idea.

    Options of 2ltr, 4ltr, 6ltr and 10ltr
Its made by the yanks and seems to be solid enough to take a beating
They have 6 holes for strapping it down.

The lid is a cool gadget in itself.

I have filled it with water and it doesn’t leak so all is good so far.
I will let you know how it goes next week.

I had one of these on last years simpson/ hay river ride, woke up in the morning with a puddle of water in the tent :pinch: . It got punctured by the cat eyes (i think thats what there called) these are three pronged thorns found all over the Hay river track. caused a bit of a problem as I lost a fair amount of my water supply.

    Yeah,
I figure a 4ltr would be good to have on the sort of rides we get out on occasionally.

    ;)

I didn’t end up using it, but had it there if we needed it.

I reckon they are a good thing but don’t reckon they would survive a cat head attack.

Strucky borrowed one that is used as a fuel bladder, it worked great until it expanded in the sun and then fired a stream of fuel out of the little pouring spout

i recommend these bladders ( for water, not fuel ) and think the 4L is big enough.

Hey Eags, you take it for a test run if you want mate.

I have 2 x 6 L dromedary water bladders , they are veterans of 2 Simpson Desert expeditions now , both perfectly water tight and will be for as long as I look after them . Good bit of kit :) .
