That was the original way to the top but the left adds a little more single.
Galey, Bob was talking about the tree rooted hill on the right before you go down through the slush near the top.April 3, 2012 at 11:41 am #219289Thanks Murph. I am glad you can understand him. I have given up and just ignore him. The little guy can ride when he wants to. :silly:

KTM_RulesApril 3, 2012 at 2:23 pm #219302Thanks for an awesome weekend Murph. :woohoo:
Thanks for putting us up for the weekend and leading some of the tracks. thanks KTM_Rules for leading and being offical photographer again.
The tracks were hard as expected for a Murphsberg and everyone chipped in when needed. I got cramps in the heart and brain for the first half of Sunday and then came goodish in the second half of the day. I still enjoyed the riding just not the heat. Watching Ev do the ‘sponsored rider throw’ on one hill was probably the highlight of the day. I liked riding up those steps too.
Monday we were off to a slow start with a couple of bike repairs, but all was good. The tracks were bit more open and flowing until Mr Rules took over and showed Murph some new ‘tightish’ singles. It was some great tight riding with some arse puckering moments. More nice single to the lunch stop and then off to amozon. Murph, Dude, Thrillseeker and I decided not to do Amozon as we were pretty much shagged and didn’t feel like trashing our bikes. So we left the pros to it.
We did cruised som fire trails back to some new sungles Murph wanted to show me. We did two nice flowing tracks then headed for the pool and beer fridge.
All up a great weekend very all good riders and met some new faces. Galey now realises that I can’t ride and he is the ‘can ride’ dude.
pics and vids to come.
April 3, 2012 at 2:57 pm #219305Good one Mal.
Heres my take on the first day.
Day 1
Started with bacon and eggs and then it was off down to the meeting point
Everybody was on time which was great
I decided to let KTM_Rules lead as he wouldnât hold anybody up on the hills and we talked out the route I had in mind. Did the first single with a few boys getting caught at one section. Crossed the main ridge road and down into Boyds (Panadol hills). Some got through on the first attempt, others on their second and some needed assistance. Well done fellaâs. Then it was off into a newish single which meandered its way through the forest linking up with the original single heading north. Prick hill caused a bit of greif for some as the pics show. Good to see some other guys carrying slings and most got in to help each other out.I remember riding down one mesh hill and talking to BiggerAl69r and he described how he got thrown off and his bike endoing down to the valley floor. Lucky heâs a big bloke and he just brushed himself off. Bike was OK so everybody continued the steep, slippery climb up the other side.
Saw Ev in a horrible rutted mud hole and we put a sling on his bike to drag him out.
We rode some more singles and ejected a little earlier than I had planned but KTM_Rules new exactly where to meet up with Hitchcocks so all was cool. Hitchyâs has been cleared (thanks to the hard work gone into that, who ever it was) and we all made it to the bottom without too much drama (I think). Lunch was had in the shade where it was cooler and then it was up Whitemans where nearly everybody had issues somewhere.
The best being Evâs attack at the very first step. He lined it up and hit it with gusto but a split second later he had let go of his bike launching at Galey. Ev managed to jump back down the step and his bike seemed to be alright but it did make for some exciting viewing. I remember Bob yelling out ânailed itâ causing laughter from the crew. Glad you were alright Evan. Like I said nearly everbody had an off somewhere up that hill.
Mine was when I took the lead back and had forgotten about stage 3 to the hill. I came up to the rock step too fast and when I down shifted and hit it the gas the big girl just spun and didnât lift forcing me straight into the ledge. Looking around I embarassingly saw some of the crew and then Galey came to my aid. (thanks mate) We put a rock at base of the step and we all took turns one by one slowly getting to top of this section.
It was more single sections, then down Zig Zag and around to Woose hill. I think Chris, Sam and Tim made it to the top with Galey also having a couple of cracks but with no luck. I showed the boys the chicken track where I needed a little help (thanks Thrillseeker). We all bunched up at the next little obstacle and I took photos of most coming down the step off. Galey took a little coaxing to trust his machine but he did it eventually. Others walked their bikes down to the right.
From there it was down to the bottom of Maculata where there were 4WDS looking like they were going to camp the night. Man they make a mess of the tracks. Back up to Watagans Forest Drive where Galey showed me he had a rear flat and he rode it back to the cars like that. We had only covered about 58kms but thatâs not too bad with a crew of 11.
Fairwells were said to some and I lead the rest of the boys back to my place where I gave Galey a rear tyre as his was looking a little out of shape. He also swaped his exhaust with another as that one had coped a huge hit and was crushed pretty bad.
I organized dinner and Mal did the BBQ duties, we all sat and ate home made hamburgers watched the footage from the day and were in bed by about 9:30
Cheers

Hey Ev, I had a go at the ‘sponsored rider throw’ on Monday morning. Not quite thrown in the air but the bike did leave me and finish upside down in a big rut/cutter and me rolling down the hill.
Ah good times. :woohoo:
