    What a cracker :woohoo:
Conditions were testing but bloody great fun
Austblue arrives at my place almost an hour before kick off :) I now know why, it yakes him some time to gear up  All is good and Tim and I make to the top of the driveway, looking back we see Austblue still kicking the new TM. He had it running 30 seconds ago :( We decide to clutch it down the road and after much pushing still had no luck :S ( He even locked the rear wheel up, slid out and high sided it on one attempt  ) After I gave some kicks it was agreed to change the plug. Bike started on 3rd kick and we were underway ;)
The tracks leading out were very slippery in parts but everyone got into a bit of a rythm. Tim was still lagging a little but after a while he was opening the little 200 Kato up and getting amonst it :woohoo:
We did some nice singles out the back of Awaba then up past West Lakes Track and out through the valley of clay :silly: Evidently there was a bit of an incident there but eventually we all had made it through
Kept to the main tracks until we got to Razorback 👿
Austblue had an off on the first rocky stepped downhill and was lucky only he went sliding off the side (not taking his bike with him) He showed me a huge dent in his expansion chamber  which made me feel a little guilty   He wasn’t hurt so off we went taking care along the narrow ridge :) At the end of Razorback there is a very steep rock drop, unfortunately Austblue locked the rear wheel at the top, slid out which changed his direction into the gnarlyest part of the cliff and then it was all over red rover
He was bloody lucky not to get hurt on this one :silly: Of course I missed the photo, just.
Fueled up at the Gap and had a bite to eat, then it was off down the Southside :woohoo: Some deep puddles were negotiated before we did Tim and My secret single :woohoo: Back onto some open stuff before dropping into Bangalow. Zig zagged our way through some beautiful rainforest and gullies and climbed out via a rocky hill that goes on for some time. Headed north for a bit then back down another rocky slippery hill back into Bangalow. Our trip back was almost un eventfull except for Austblue getting stuck in a watery rutt and Tim deciding to take a bath at the same creek.
The ride took the best part of 6 hours and was great fun
My one gripe was with my new boots that are much higher in the toe area than my last ones. Which meant I missed a few gear changes, something I will have to get used to as the next spline around on the gear shift would have the lever rubbing on the casing I think
Thanks to Austblue for making the ride entertaining (hope your misses doesn’t see the dent in your pipe or for that matter read this report)
Glad to see Tim getting back into it on his second ride back since his accident
My good mate Mal5.1 may post my pics up
    Cheers

Great ride and great company. Tim is obviously well versed in the murphsberg style and nothing seemed to bother him too much. The start was tragic but at least we got it fixed and still got going and I know better for next time.

I do take a long time to get ready :p I wear a lot of gear and I reckon I did a good job of justifying all of it today :D The ding in the pipe barely disappointed me murph and don’t bother feeling guilty that’s just ridiculous.

I had a great day and it could only have been made better by me being fitter! Back at it again tomorrow so I’ll cut this short and post up some more later.

Cheers Murph and smurph thanks for a great day.

Yeah mate will take some getting used to but I do like the power delivery and the handlind is great. I was definitely the limiting factor today and I’m sure my bike is less impressed with me than I am with it :D

 Bit of a shame about the Ding there AB
At least your out there enjoying it, thats what it is for right !!!! :)

Looks like another typical MurphsBerg to me again,,,,, He knows how to put on a show the Old Surf

Thanks for the report & ride pics guys, it helps break the boredom for me at the moment. (I have been housebound for 3 days now as sick as Menace & Boonit in the bath together playing Rubber Duckies

On the mend now slowly, still not ready to venture too far just yet though :S
The Charley Boorman Dvd`s have been copping a workout ;)

AB you may discover an even more annoying thing then the dent when you remove the pipe, being its bent also.

I played with my 2 bent pipes yesterday using the pointy end of my 4pounder to persuade it.

    Hey Eags
Hope you are feeling well soon mate
I watched a Xmas DVD presy whilst hungover on Saturday
It was the new Charley Boorman one, where he travelled from Australia to Japan by any means. I don’t mind his DVD’s as you get to see alot of out of the way places.
You would of loved yesterdays ride mate ;) Wet, slippery and rocky at times :woohoo:

How did ya go with the pipe beating Diddel????
I offered to repair Austblue’s pipe after I make the neccessary jigs and have a go at Tims old pipe first. We are a bit worried about the pipe being twin walled though
Missed a good one yesterday Diddel, and why are you not out there today????
    Cheers

It’s a new bike not a new born! I bought it to enjoy it and that’s what I’ve done for the last two days looking like this guy inside my helmet :D

Of course I didn’t buy it to belt it up and it’s a pretty funny coincidence that I did that the first ride out but what’s even funnier is that I dropped it along the road before I even got it into the bush! What I wanted to do and should really have done is take it out for a few easy rides first to get it set up right and then tackle the heavy stuff. I was just too eager to ride and that’s the way the cards fell.

    p.s. Chicks dig scars :p

fitter schmitter  ive got no mechanical skills what so ever and i blew out and realigned my pipe using “special home made tools” .

    you really dissapoint me Duddle.

get of the grog man :S

if only i could follow my own advice been on a seven day bender. :(

the missus tallied up the amount of drinks ive had over the past seven days, between the scotches and beers.

as i said to her, only alcoholics count their drinks  i even cramped in the surf today at the 3 hour mark.

if i can stop the bender tomorrow i will be up for a ride on wednesday.

ourimbah, 90 kays of hard trails :woohoo:
