What a top ride with almost perfect conditions. :woohoo:
We had Tim, Thrillseeker, Mick, CJ, and my young brother Luke.
A good calibre of riders making it through the three hills without getting the slings out. :woohoo:
105kms with a fuel stop at Freemans for some of the 2 bangers.
I had issues, getting stuck in a bog hole on one of Tims singles. My mistake for taking a different line. Thanks Thrillseeker for getting your boots wet and helping me out, as I was sinking by the second.
It was good to get everybody through Amazon in good time, I think Tim rode the really sick section at stage 3 while the rest of us bashed our way up the slightly easier way. 👿
Slippery rock hill proved to be too easy for everybody but still a great hill.
Congewoi hill proved itself to be nice and difficult, always wet and slippery. We had lunch at the creek and met four bikes that had just come down it. I heard one of the boys telling us we were in for a big afternoon if we going up but I don’t think we even spent an hour on it. :woohoo: 👿 :woohoo:
Travelled home via some of the Awaba singles and then a couple more hills heading towards the powerlines.
Watched Tim hit a very sick hill at least three times but too his credit he made it on the fourth. No one else was keen so we headed for home. Almost cleaned up a number of silly little thumpsters that were scattered from Awaba to Buttaba.
Thats it for me
May have some pics later
Cheers

Like I said it was a great ride, but I was a little worried knowing I was at least twenty years older than any of the other riders

Murph :blush:May 26, 2012 at 11:27 pm #222565Awesome ride Murph,
Thanks Murph, Tim, Luke, CJ and Mad Mick for the great day riding. 105kms – awesome!
The day didn’t start well for me when l dropped it on the first rocky down hill after 5kms. No damage to the bike so it was fine :pinch: . Then we hit the small waterhole that has turned into the bog hole from hell that everyone apart from Tim had trouble with.
After that, we all made easy work of the rock ledge
and onto Tims single with the logs. Man the clay on the run up to the first 2 were like ice. Mad Mick and l, well mostly l, had big trouble getting traction on the run up so it took a few goes.
Amazon was great
We all got up with no ropes and not to much outside help.
Hill 2 was good. We all got up no worries.
Hill 3. Man this the toughest hill of them all. No sunlight = no traction 👿 . There was plenty of action here. Tim got stuck in the river after the logs  . Mad Micks loop out  and Murphs little drop  which was so unexpected and missed the photo of the Big 500 on her side
5km from the end Tim asked if anyones keen for one more hill and l said ok. The hill didn’t look too bad from 2km away. Lets make this a 4 hills ride l said  . When we got to the bottom and looked at it, l was like you have to be joking. No way. Tim rode straight up it. Man he’s ready for Erzberg 2012
Thrillseeker.
