Murray-Sunset NP Easter 2011

It’s time to get some sand under my wheels so you are welcome to join Tryhard and myself riding Murray – Sunset NP in Victoria over Easter.

I’ll be on the DR650 and Tryhard on the KTM690. We will be unsupported and camping wherever we end up in the arvo.

We will trailer the bikes down to the starting point at Red Cliffs, Nangiloc or Mildura, leaving the Central Coast Thursday arvo, overnight at Gunning and arrive Friday arvo/night. Ride from 7am Saturday and arrive back Monday arvo. Overnight somewhere on Monday and drive home Tuesday.

The route will be as much dirt, sand and dust as I can find, from the North to the South, East and Western edges and to the very middle of the NP. We’ll have a good look around. If we have time we might jump over to Hattah for a look.

You should have a fuel range of 300km, the more the better and be able to take all camping gear, food, spare parts and anything else you think you might need.

I’m guessing you mean Red Cliffs Lotsa. Will be a bit longer ride if you are starting at White Cliffs.

It turns out, not that hard core TB. I meant Red Cliffs. But now that has got me thinking;) .

I’ll edit the post and I have spotted a place called Nangiloc a bit north of Hattar with a flat track nearby that might be a good start point. The start point doesn’t matter…just a place to leave the car.
