Another Old Bull from Wauchope is riding in it too, keep an eye out for riderhery (Glenn) Number 232 on a KTM 300 in the veterans. He’ll go alright.

    UPDATE:

I just spoke to TB and Mal is on time at the first control despite two minor front end drops, one of which, broke his Acerbis hand guard bracket, TB is busy replacing it now with a Barkbuster one in the work period.

    More updates as they come.

    UPDATE.

Apparently there is a gnarley hill on the 2nd stage and 1/3 of the field have had grief on it. Mal has lost 28 minutes on this stage which is about the average time lost on this stage from all reports.

They have now entered into the pine forest section and TB is quoted as saying “It is dark enough in there to fart soot”

    Update.

Mal has stayed on time in the 3rd control. Mal and Medogrocket are now neck and neck on the same minute.

Just spoke to TB again and he said it is the toughest 4 day he has seen, some bikes have already withdrawn.

At the completion of his last control Mal had lost 8 minutes. He is in good spirits but busted. Tb said he wont need rocking to sleep tonight.

It is also good to see that Mickp and White rocket are there helping with the marshalling.

Mal lost another 11 minutes on the 5th stage but has hit his second wind and is peddling along well. Medogrocket has recovered well from a flat tyre earlier in the day.

Having seen and ridden some of the rides/trails that KTM Rules (president of OBMCC) does in the Wattie’s I’m not surprised to hear it’s a hard 4 Day. The poor weather won’t be helping either I guess.

Mal has just finished the last special test and is on his way back to the parc femme he has an airfilter to do and to fit the barkbuster that TB scored for him, to see an end to day 1. I was mistaken before when I reported that TB was fitting the Barkbuster.

TB also reported that Medogrocket was last seen leaning over his bike after the final stage looking very “busted arse” and not too keen to continue on.

Great Effort Mal & Medogrocket ;)
Those specials look sweet (until you guys carve em up that is)

I so wish I could have made it down there this year to watch & help out etc (better luck next time) Next year Easter is rolling into Anzac Weekend, so hopefully the A4DE will be done & dusted before that :)
