My first ever dirt track practice day – not riding

I was asked by a mate whether I wanted to come along to a Dirt Track practice day that was being held at Nepean today and so with a month of holidays just started I figured absolutely so went for a look. Of course it helps that he races sidecars (road and dirt track) and that I do love my sidecars, but the real clincher wast hat he has offered me a ride on another practice day.

Oh, yeah, I took the camera.

The little 450cc sidecars were, well, made to look small (based on the old venerable GS450).

But the bigger 1000cc of Tommy was there and it could be a handful.

Not to mention a few solos.

Not clear pics but love the tyre distortion

Watching just made me determined to get out there and ride one of these bloody sidecars, looks like heaps of fun.

Great pics!! Those side car dudes are crazy IMO!! That was a great shot of the tyre distorting.

i was going to run a trials tyre on today’s trail ride
but i went to the beach instead of fitting yesterday

Old Al was going pretty good with his trials tyre. They are good for the stuff we did yesterday.

I love the pic of that tyre distorting, looks like you had a fun day. Not sure I’d been keen for the sidecars either though!

Saw the flattrackers race at Tamworth a few times, its a crazy sport! One bloke had a freaky custom sidecar with a 1100 road bike engine in it that just howled! You have to admire them, its not an easy sport!
