    Furry muff :)

Soujnds like you won’t be doing heaps of K’s anyway so should be all good. If you start to do more though it might be an option you should reconsider, it’s certainly cheaper than fixing a grenaded gearbox :)

Some latest pics of the project.

    Nice knurled bar ends.

A spring tightly mounted on the muffler with some s/s cable ties to act as a slider and protect the muffler. The rivets for the endcap prevent the spring from moving.

Skateboard wheels mounted on threaded rod through the axle act as sliders to protect the front forks and brake caliper.

Looks good Slug. Will that spring on the muffler really stay in place when the bike is sliding down the road 60Km/h+ ? Did you make the bar ends yourself, they look quite bling :)

In theory the spring should stay attached, as I tensioned it up good and proper. It’s as much about giving it that cafe racer look as it is for protection. I really don’t plan on finding out how effective it will be. :)

The bar ends were “modified by me”. They needed to be machined down to fit the handlebars. I will more than likely put the handguards back on to offer more protection to the levers. I did some testing by laying the bike down on the driveway, to see what parts would rub, in the event of an accident. The levers may catch the road/track/carpark under certain circumstances. I think most of my falling off will be at slow speed whilst trying to master stunts.

Just as an added attention grabbing feature, a ventilated front guard. Thats the beauty of using cheap plastics, one can afford to play around and experiment. I will drill any extra couple of “speed holes” tomorrow and remount it, plus the modified handguards with nylon sliders. ie bits of a breadboard:)

I like the way you say that mosts of your crashes are likely to happen whilst doing ‘stunts’ :silly:
